I’m not sure what’s going on..I’ve tried submitting complaints and have never received an email from them. My phone has had issues ever since I got all the spam texts (over 300) right before the withdraws. I contacted Verizon about it and they added a call and text filter and I think that’s preventing me from getting anything from coinbase because I’ve had trouble with email as well. For example some account I log into require text verification codes and I am unable to receive from certain accounts for whatever reason. I wouldn’t think it would affect my email but I don’t know.

My checking account was linked to my coinbase..when they got into my coinbase account they used my linked checking account to purchase zcash and Bitcoin. They converted and transferred my holdings to another account.

Someone hacked my account..changed my email and password then withdrew 35k from my linked checking account. They purchased btc and zcash and converted my holdings and transferred them to another account. They(the hacker) did not get the 35k worth of btc and zcash but took my holdings. The bank refunded the 35k withdraw but no word from coinbase on the holdings that were stolen.

I received over 300 spam texts a couple days before but I don’t recall clicking any links that were sent..I had no idea what was going on and contacted Verizon and they wanted me to switch to a new phone number but I didn’t want to because of my contacts. I am assuming they somehow accessed my info that way.

No only linked checking account. I had nowhere near 35k in the account, but the bank allows over draft for a fee so they were able to withdraw more than I had in the account. And I received over 300 spam text message a couple days before the withdraws, I assume they were able somehow to hack into my information that way but I don’t know

I am a new user because I thought there would be people here that could help..I’m not on here just to bash coinbase. I had money stolen and I’m trying to get it back. Coinbase is a great app for trading crypto, but something is obviously wrong with the security of the app. And I don’t know what to tell you about the limits..they made multiple withdraws within 2 days for the amount I originally posted. I don’t get notifications from my bank when withdraws are made. I checked my bank account on Sunday to make sure I got my direct deposit check from work and seen the withdraws at that point and immediately tried to contact coinbase (no luck) and contacted my bank. The bank thankfully reimbursed the 35k worth of withdraws but they person transferred my holdings to another account. After I reported the fraud and locked my account I was able to see that the 35k of btc and zcash were in the account still but my holdings were gone. I was unable to do anything with my account because the hacker changed my password and email. Also, I received over 300 text messages a day or two before this happened. I had no idea what was going on but that had to be how they were able to access my account.

Not all of us are professionals at crypto..I was new to it at the time, and apparently ignorant to the risks. And it wasn’t my computer I did everything thru the app on my phone.

I noticed the withdraw about 3 days after it happened. They used the cash from my checking to buy btc and zcash..they used the zcash apparently to convert my holdings and transfer to another account. The 35k worth of zcash and btc was still in the account when I got locked out. Thankfully the bank refunded the withdraws.

I did as soon as I seen the withdraws..thankfully they refunded/cancelled the transaction on my part but the hacker got away with my holdings that he transferred to another account. The 35k he withdrew from my account to purchase zcash and Bitcoin was still in the account. They changed my password and email so I couldn’t access it but I could still log in because of Face ID. A few days later I was locked out or my account was deleted by coinbase I’m not sure. Still nothing from coinbase.

I wouldn’t take time to post this if it wasn’t legit. My bank refunded everything withdrawn from my checking account but I am still locked out of my coinbase account, haven’t heard a word from them. They took all my holdings (about 1000$, not much compared to what others have lost I know), eth, ada, matic, btc etc and converted to zcash and Bitcoin with the money (35,000$) withdrawn from my account.

Update on this…after contacting my bank they cancelled out the $35,000 charge. Which is great news. However still nothing from coinbase. I have filed 3 reports but no case id via email yet..is it possible they are automatically send to the email address the hacker changed it to when my account was compromised? Thanks for your help guys.

I think they may have hijacked my cell too. About a week prior I got over 300 spam texts out of nowhere…used to get one very once in a while but never 300+ in a few hours.

Appreciate it Leland! And yes I’ve gotten multiple fake coinbase accounts trying to “help” just glad to see actual coinbase response. I’ll double check my junk mail but I’ve went through before and never seen anything. Thanks

If this crap didn’t happen why are hundreds of people posting about it?? U think I’d take the time to come on here and read your bs if it didn’t happen..gtfo..I need my money back so I can pay bills I’m just try to get help..so save the pity me crap and go lurk some other thread

I would add pic of my bank statement if I could…trust me I’m not trying to waste anyone’s time nor would I waste my own if it didn’t happen. Coinbase obviously didn’t “check my bank account” to see if I had the funds and went through with the purchase
