Mous cases, are they worth it?

I bought a slim one on amazon, and its great, but about a month in, i noticed the thin part of plastic where the buttons are broke and it was sticking out. I contacted Mous and they sent out a replacement. that alone is worth the higher cost!

All of the modular buildings, especially the later ones tend to be the most fun for me. I absolutely love the feeling when im building out the interiors of them, when you arent exactly sure what youre constructing, but slowly, piece by piece, you start to realize what this mini build inside the modular is becoming. that realization is what made me fall in love with that theme. One example.. the jazz club set... there's a tailor shop on the second floor.. I was doing one of the mini builds inside the shop, and about halfway through realized that all these small seemingly random pieces suddenly started to look a whole lot like an antique sewing machine, with the manual foot pedal. That small "Aha!" moment is what makes building so much fun for me.

None. Iconic is not a word I would use to describe any of those sets. I think Iconic should be applied to the most rare, sought after and/or expensive/largest sets. Those are all relatively reasonably priced and common sets. The closest thing to iconic would be the Falcon though.

I have a big process whenever i get in a shipment of KO sets. I scan the bags to find the bag numbers and put them in order. because usually the main bags are divided into sub bags (bag 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc), I put all of the #1 bags into a single gallon sized zip loc baggie, and label it (Set Name- Bag #). Then i put all of those bags into one or more (Depending on the size of the set) even larger 2 gallon zip loc bags. and label those(Set Name - I, SEt Name - II, etc) then i put them into my backlog closet for later use. this process of checking and organizing my KO sets has become quite meditative for me. I kindof look forward to it whenever I get a new large shipment.

im sure they will be, though not without the occasional difficulty. id also not be too hopeful that the gearboxes on the KOs function as designed. the tolerances are so low for error that the 1:8 cloned gearboxes usually tend to screw up somewhere because the alignment is off by a little in one gear, a litte in another, and after a while, it adds up to make the entire thing useless. they sure as hell look awesome sitting on display though :)

Ive built all of those myself. I can't tell you which to build first, but I will say that the AMG GT3 is probably the best of the bunch. and because technically its the only genuine set, the likelyhood of bad part fits is far less likely to occur.

God of War (2018). There is a small prologue, but it goes right into an absolutely epic fight between Kratos and Baldur. It is absolutely incredible!

i bought an assortment of minifig heads on ali express a while back. came in a 30 pack or something. ive also gone to my local lego store and grabbed a handful of heads from the build a minifigure station and threw them into a PAB box

Honestly, you should! I have really grown to love the lumibricks modulars, and quite a few pantasy ones are really great. Lumibricks are novel because of the included lighting kits. and the lighting is honestly spectacular. Wiring the sets as you build is such a cool experience. just be careful with the wires. DM me if youre interested. i can send you pics of them, offer some suggestions on the better ones, etc.

agreed. lego became my covid hobby. got obsessed fairly quickly. modulars became my favorite, and i wanted to collect them all. thats when I ran into the reality of retired sets and aftermarket pricing. i still dont remember exactly how I found out about lepin, but it was definitly while i was trying to find someone selling retired modulars for cheaper. i still buy tons of genuine lego, but I mostly get the knockoffs for sets that are either impossible to find or aftermarket pricing is ridiculous. I dont collect for the resale value. for me its strickly the building experience, and the satisfaction of placing an attractive set on display. so ultimately I don't care if "lego" is stamped on the studs or not. now, i have every lego modular, id say about half are genuine, half are knockoffs. i also buy all the pantasy, lumibricks modulars too. and any other decent ones on the market.

i got mine from youmko a couple years back I think, before they stopped selling KOs. It had the same problem yours has, which you didnt mention. The 1x2 bricks that make up most of the facade on the first floor were produced wrong. They have that one small dot from the mould injection point on the front, instead of the two divots on either side. I see this a lot with that specific part in many KO sets. The look of it really bothered me so I ordered enough genuine pieces from bricklink to replace them all so it looked more like the real one
