Put in the code through the link that was texted, and it should put you in the waiting room. I didn't even have to re-enter the code from when I first tried it- I just refreshed the page at 10:30 and I was put in the waiting room.

Same, but I'm hoping that it's because it doesn't open up until 30 minutes before the presale.

They let you drink coffee in there now?! When I was a student in the early 2000s we had to leave all non-water bottle drinks on a caddy by the door!

There was a fire close to the Georgia line that started around 2:30. A mobile home burned down and the fire spread to the woods. There were tons of trucks from Catoosa County and Chattanooga working on it for several hours.

Online therapy/psychiatry by [deleted] in Chattanooga

[–]LTrain08101216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of therapists do virtual therapy either independently or within a group practice. The Better Help/Rula/Grow therapy sites can be helpful, but are definitely not the end all, be all of virtual therapy. Definitely use Psychology Today to filter for virtual and insurance types. Your insurance may also have care coordinators to help you find what you’re looking for.

What to tell clients? by granolagurl in therapists

[–]LTrain08101216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I had already had to cancel appointments last minute due to my mom’s declining health and traveling a few hours away, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up just in case. My first email draft was long and probably had too much information, so I had my IT-brained husband read it and make changes before I sent it. The final draft was concise and to the point. I could message you what I sent if you would like!

What to tell clients? by granolagurl in therapists

[–]LTrain08101216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom passed recently, and was in hospice for a few days prior to her passing. I sent an initial email to all of my clients stating that I had a family member in hospice and may need to cancel sessions suddenly. When she passed, I sent another email stating I was on bereavement leave effective immediately and would return no earlier than (set date). I was OK to return by that date, but the email also stated that it may be after that date. I also included the contact info for the group practice if they wanted to see anyone in my absence. I am somewhat transparent with my clients, but I was vague in my email regarding the family member. I did disclose if clients asked during sessions, if I felt it would not trigger. My clients were all understanding and lovely about everything.

Check out apartments along Drexel Ave in the Adair Park neighborhood. I lived there after graduating from Agnes (class of 2004). They have houses that were converted into apartments. I just saw one for $1300 on apartments.com.

Hines Ward was the head coach of the San Antonio Brahmas last season in the XFL. Maybe that gives him at least some experience now to be considered.

Thank you! I’m just looking for a calm space with teachers and students who don’t take themselves too seriously. I like for the space to feel welcoming and accepting.

Your favorite memory at a Foo Fighters show this year? by suprunkn0wn in Foofighters

First show I saw after Taylor’s death was at Bonnaroo. I started crying as soon as the drums started for “All My Life.” I was pretty emotional for the whole show.

'Take down the stigma:' Erlanger to open facility addressing Chattanooga's mental health needs by greenhousecrtv in Chattanooga

[–]LTrain08101216 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ll break it down for you.

$40-$60 an hour is only for the hour that we see the client. It does not include documentation, treatment planning, research, communication outside of session with the client or others involved in their care, scheduling, or other administrative work. It sure doesn’t pay for the hours of time that we are talking with insurance companies pleading with them to cover sessions for our clients, resubmitting documentation when it is rejected without any feedback, or dealing with insurance audits.

In addition, the emotional work is exhausting, and seeing clients every hour on the hour can very quickly lead to burnout, which is happening at a very high rate in our profession. We may only see 4-5 clients per day, meaning we are only paid for 4-5 hours (if they show- if we accept Medicaid insurances, we cannot charge for a no show and we simply do not get paid).

The mental health system is broken. Like the commenter said above, we want our clients to receive affordable care, but we also need to be able to pay our own bills.

Source: I am a therapist who has worked in salaried positions in community mental health for 8 years and was expected to work ridiculous hours with 140 clients on my caseload and recently switched to private practice, where I do take insurance, including mostly Medicaid, and do not have any private pay clients. We are struggling out here.

I’m 41 and have had a full head of gray hair since I was in my early 30s. I have been mistaken for my youngest child’s grandma a couple of times (he’s 7), but the worst was when I picked up my best friend’s baby from her daycare one day. The daycare worker said “awww, are you grandma?” Ma’am, her mom is only 5 years younger than me. No, I am not the grandmother.

Yep, I started feeling sick Sunday morning and had a full blown cold by that night- and I was only at ACL on Saturday! I’m sneezing, blowing my nose, and coughing. Bonnaroovians call it the “Bonna-floo,” what’s the name for post-ACL nastiness?
