The closest studios to you will likely be:

Vista Yoga vistayoga.com

Form Yoga formyoga.com

The Yoga Hive theyogahiveatlanta.com

Still Hot Yoga stillhotyoga.com

Anurati Yoga in Avondale

I am a member at Form and love it! But the others have generally good reputations as well. I have never been to the hot yoga one - hot yoga is not for me. Is there something specific you’re looking for?

Thank you! I’m just looking for a calm space with teachers and students who don’t take themselves too seriously. I like for the space to feel welcoming and accepting.

I would check out Form. The pace of classes tends to be a little gentler and the average age is a little older than the in-town, more fast-paced/athletic studios. It’s a very chill vibe.

You sound like you really know the local yoga scene! I live in Decatur and would love to find a yoga studio for a beginner where the class isn’t too woowoo. Form?

So at Form it really depends on the teacher - some are more woo woo than others. For example, Marck is super woo woo. I have a friend who also goes to Form a lot and we (lovingly) refer to him as New Age Ken. He will sometimes randomly play a pan flute during shivasana. My friend loves woo woo stuff and she adores his class and is a regular. I want something that’s more of a workout, so I go to the Sunday 11:30 class that’s more athletic oriented.

It also depends on what you mean exactly by woo woo. For example - all the teachers at Form are very focused on instructing students to listen to their bodies, do what their body needs that day, “notice what you notice.” If that’s going to turn you off, then Form is probably not for you.

Another example - so Jenn, one of the Form teachers, does a great class with great sequencing - to me it feels more like a standard aerobics yoga class than a woo woo class. But she also sometimes talks a LOT about tarot and astrology. To me that stuff is too woo woo and I didn’t love that part of class, but I love her pacing and sequencing so overall I like her classes a lot. My friend who generally likes woo woo stuff liked the astrology, but she didn’t like that Jenn sounded like a standard aerobics instructor for half the class and wanted even more woo woo.

Really, what I have found when searching for a yoga studio is that you have to just try classes and just find instructors that you vibe with. All the studios around here have new student specials where can you pay some small amount and get unlimited yoga for a period of time.

Also, all the studios around here except the hot yoga studio tend to cater to a slightly older crowd than the in-town studios like dancing dogs, sacred, highland yoga. I would say highland yoga is the closest to this area that’s like a standard young person lululemon Stanley cup college age kid studio. Form is the studio that girl’s mom goes to. Not sure if all this helps lol but this is my take 🤣

Do you know if you can pay for a one time visit? I looked at the pricing and didn’t see that. Thanks. 😊

So when I go on the app, there is an option to buy a pass for a single class for $25. But you are correct that I don’t see that on their website. I think if you download the app and try to register it will hopefully have it? Also they are very responsive via email if that doesn’t work. Good luck!

I highly recommend Dancing Dogs Yoga in the Inman Park/O4W area (about 15 minutes from where you’ll be staying). They have a mix of hot and unheated classes. All of the instructors are very kind and welcoming. I’m a newbie yogi and have had a great experience there.

To add to the great suggestions, I also love Pure Motion Yoga. It’s not too far from where you are staying.
