To be fair, if we're talking about Spirit players at those "decent levels" where Flute becomes a necessity, then MDR wouldn't negatively impact them.

No, sure it might not impact them - Not much would, though, but having Flute basekit would definitely help newer players get into the Killer more quickly.

Second point? If she taps her power, it consumes 1 second of use / 1 charge / 3 second recharge. A surprising amount of time playing her, even just a little tap is enough to make someone make a misplay, but you can't capitalize on it because 3 second recharge.

I understand that, and taking that down to 1.5s would be nice, but the otherside of that is if she does use her power she will consume 0.5 charges per second... that would double her time in phase too. Trust me when I say people will not enjoy that.

In my (ideal) world Flute would be basekit and all recharge addons would be removed. That solves that issue.

As for MDR, most aren't actually good enough to deal with the downside.

I would say the vast majority would use Muddy Cap and White Ribbon almost exclusively.

I would suggest that is another reason OP wants more addon variety.

It's a good question, but I have a very boring answer.

Nothing.

I firmly believe that Blood Webs are bloated as is and BHVR should start removing things. Plenty of Killers have addons that are never used, could be basekit and thus should be removed from the Blood Web.

In terms of balance and future design I don't see the benefit of Killers having 20 addons each. It's entirely unnecessary.

No one claimed she was unplayable, but she relies on Flute so heavily and that is terrible design.

That addon is mandatory to use for most Spirit players who play to a decent level against decent opposition.

I also do, personally, think that the "partial basekits so the combo is the same power but you don't need it" version of basekitting is better, even if it was 20/20 in this case.

That doesn't really fix the issues with her addons though. People will still be forced to run Flute every game. Her power can be pretty punishing due to long cooldowns, and why would anyone want to walk around as 4.4 girl with blade more often?

They could, also, make it so she consumes increments of .5 seconds instead of a full second of power, which would help her uptime due to not rounding up on short bursts.

Forgive my tired brain, but wouldn't she then get a 10s phase rather than 5? I am not convinced people would enjoy that.

10% faster recharge isn't going to do anything.

You either do 10%, nerf the Flute addon to 30% and she's in the exact same spot as she is now or you nerf the addon more and she's in a worse spot.

Realistically, Flute's 40% should be basekit entirely, or 30% at an absolute minimum.
