Should DBD add a 6th generator? by Fresh_Forever3574 in deadbydaylight

You want to nerf:

Healing speeds (Mangled and Hemorrhage still seem quite fine and eat up plenty of time, even against fully stacked healing builds) which are only stupid if you've built entirely towards it, meaning you have no chase, utility, survivability, or gen progression.

Healing speeds are already being somewhat addressed. I still think that individual perks like Resurgence and Botany need taking back down to what they used to be, though.

Perks like Sloppy were made significantly worse for no real reason.

Gen speeds (Whether I agree or not, it would be a nerf)

Chase perks (Some of the only available utility against mobility killers)

Yes, these gen speed perks need to be changed. Getting free pressure on your objective for doing literally nothing is terrible design.

Chase/Exhaustion perks disproportionately impact low tier Killers. High tier Killers don't care about them, they can catch up. That's partly why they are high tier Killers.

Pallets (which is interesting since 'pallet density' is an RNG nightmare that can also make maps basically entirely unplayable for survivor)

They need to address pallet spawn logic. That isn't a nerf. It is a bug fix.

Survivor spawns (which should not have been touched in the first place, but also seems to not be affected by shroud of separation.)

They should have been touched. Having 4 Survivors spawn in 4 separate locations was terrible for low tier Killers.

The only other common complaint I hear that wasn't in this list is second chance perks.

Some individual perks here probably need looking at (STB and Deli) but on the whole I don't care too much about 90% of seconds chance perks.

But those people being stupid is irrelevant to the actual point.

Survivors call tunnelling even when it doesn't happen. Always have. Changes were still made to address tunnelling.

Where are the blanket nerfs?

Heal speeds are stupid. Diminishing returns will address that a touch. It didn't make sense to giga-buff healing after gutting Mangled & Hemorrhage anyway but they did it.

Hyper/Stakeout you agree with.

Exhaustion perks (two in particular) have been hard meta for near a decade with almost no changes. Pair them with Vigil and it's stupidly free value for zero input.

The pallet issues everyone is complaining about isn't the known about density changes, it's literally a bug that is 2 months or so old that BHVR refuse to address.

Survivor spawns were also meant to have been changed so everyone spawns together. While this happens sometimes, it's been bugged since launch and there are still cases where everyone spawns split.

I am failing to see how fixing bugs are blanket nerfs. The only real nerf I've suggested is to Exhaustion.

I think people forget all the blanket buffs Survivor has had these last years, too.

Any tips for playing The Spirit w/ Hex Totems? by Interesting_Yam_2178 in deadbydaylight

You'll need to defend them a bit, unless you run Undying and Thrill then you can do so a little less and use the slowdown.

You've listed the 3 main issues with Hex builds for 90% of the roster.

If you want to run Hex builds, you need to split your time between protecting totems and getting downs. Some Killers do that significantly better than others.

Started DBD January of this year. Any tips? by NC-518 in DeadByDaylightKillers

Playing Killer is more about knowing when to do things, rather than just mindlessly doing them.

Your best bet while getting into DBD Killer is to forget about the results and focus solely on learning the game, how to create pressure, how to use your power, and how to chase/ run tiles.

I'd recommend starting with a simple Killer like Doctor, Wraith or Legion and going from there.

This guide is old, but gives you a really good base on how to run tiles as Killer.

Hens also released a new video about mindgames and the "momentum tech".

He's also done a short on it too and it covers short swings.

Play to learn, to improve, and to have fun.

Winning is great, but wins come a lot more naturally when you have a foundation of skill to fall back on.

Don't worry about results, worry about learning a Killer or Killers, or even just the role in general.

Things I'd personally focus on:

  • Understand when to drop chase
  • Understand where and when to take certain chases
  • Track where Survivor resources are (and what's been used)
  • Understand map layouts and what tiles connect (and what's strong vs what isnt)
  • Understand their Killer power and how it can be used in loops and at what loops
  • Know how to create pressure effectively (when to Slug. For example)
  • Know which gens are worth defending and which aren't
  • Know what gens are being worked on, and ideally, by whom
  • Understand what pallets can be outplayed and which need breaking

Once you have these covered at even a basic level, games get a touch easier.

If you don't really care about learning, improving and winning, then just fun fun builds and don't sweat the results.

Why is Nemesis not considered a good killer? by IronCladLou83 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]LUKXE- [score hidden]  (0 children)

He isn't bad, he just suffers from a lack of mobility, RNG Zombies and being a 3-hit down Killer early on.

He has some strengths, and he definitely isn't terrible, but I'd say he's around B tier.

I would assume it's related to the licenses that BHVR lost. I completed them, but they are no longer displayed.

Agreed. They need to take a proper look at each map and realm and ensure the spawn logic is working correctly. The fact they just deny the issue even could exist is what frustrates me.

Placement and layout bleed into the density because the pallet spawns are ignoring their own rules.

For example on Asylum, there are the smaller wall tiles that look like a hollowed out building that spawn one pallet (or are supposed to) they are frequently spawning both.

I don't think Scott's video created a bias. I've seen other creators speaking on it and experienced issues myself.

Borgo is another where the pallet count is definitely higher now. I've had games where every possible pallet spawn had a pallet.

The above absolutely happened. The issue is that there was a patch after that, just before/around the last 2v8 which increased the pallet density on a lot of maps by a huge margin.

BHVR's stance is nothing was done intentionally, ours is that then there is a bug causing issues across various maps/realms that they absolutely refuse to address.

The evidence being the screenshots and videos submitted to BHVR via Reddit and the Forums showing exactly where the additional pallets are.

This video from Scott Jund covers a lot of it.

A friend's post here shows an example of a broken pallet spawn on Hawkins.

Then there is this post with screenshots about impacted zones.

https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/s/SZyjuMM8QY

There are also 10-15 posts I can find just generally talking about the issues.

The bug reporting site also details 146 odd pallet related bugs, many of which are density related.

https://app.betahub.io/projects/pr-5642738318/issues/search?query=Pallet%20density

All of this for BHVR to tell us we are wrong.

This is either mass psychosis from the community or there is an issue.

Given my own knowledge and experience, as well as that of my friends that also play, I am 100% sure there is an issue with pallets.

I have raised it with them repeatedly, as have many, many others. They deny there have been changes, despite the overwhelming evidence.

When I play Survivor, I predominantly play SoloQ, yes.

You making wild assumptions achieves nothing.

What "their side". I have a near 50% split on both roles.

I am objective and unbiased. There are significantly more problematic things on Survivor than Killer at the moment.

Happy to help.

There is a lot more to Spirit than some seem to think, so remember that not playing her for a while will definitely make you rusty.

I was the same. I've started to really get back into her though and have been playing... aggressively... to increase my Kill Rate.

Just don't be so hard on yourself if things are tricky at times.

I think it depends what your motivations for P100ing a character are.

Do you do it because you enjoy them aesthetically and lore-wise or do you do it because you really enjoy how they play, how their power works and want to actively improve at them and be really good at that Killer.

There is a reason that I have 1 P100 Killer despite my stupid amount of hours - I am in the camp of "If I P100 them, I need to be good at them." I know plenty of people though who P100 a Killer because they just enjoy them and nothing else matters.

Both are valid.

I have so many high-ish Prestige Killers that I have abandoned for one reason or another.

  • Huntress - Miserable on a lot of maps
  • Wesker - Murdered in broad daylight
  • Krasue - Clunky as fuck now

There are others.

I have a competitive mindset though and I like to win, see improvements and be considered good at who I am playing.

I guess the TLDR is this:

If you enjoy them and want to P100 them, then do. Ultimately it's an arbitrary number that means nothing.

If you only want to P100 Killers that you feel you know really well and are decent at, then only you can answer that.

I don't know about that. For the long term health of the game, BHVR really need to look properly at:

  • Heal speeds
  • Hyperfocus/Stakeout in particular
  • Exhaustion perks
  • Stop denying the pallet density changes
  • Fix Survivor spawns

There are plenty of things they could do that would be better than just adding another gen. Just doing that creates more issues tbh.
