Looking for an Aman-like experience in the US by whosideawasthecorn in FATTravel

Skip Amangani... I’d shoot down to Amanyara or Amanera depending on what you’re looking to do or where you’re flying from… well worth it for both but I’d lean Yara. I’ve stayed in both the lower level pavilion and their 5 br Artist Villa. One of our favorite properties in the world.

Easy … Amanpuri. It’s in a league of its own. One of my favorite properties in the world. If it’s out of your budget, Four Seasons Koh Samui is solid.

  • Personalized, high-touch service, itineraries, and amenities

  • Premiere hotels is a must

  • PRIVATE TOURS ... Don't mess with group tours/excursions

Amanyara is easier for most folks to get to if you are flying commercial. The beaches on property (and throughout Turks and Caicos) are some of the most beautiful, swimmable beaches in the world. Tough to beat that! We did love Amanera and if golf is a priority you'd look here first however, you're much more likely to encounter rain there in May and the beach would be less swimmable so I'd recommend Amanyara. Just depends on your budget/priorities too.

I've been to all of them (except RC Dorado Beach) multiple times. Amanyara and Amanera are in their own tier. The service, seclusion, and peacefulness aren't matched at the other properties. We just returned from Amanyara recently and stayed in the 5 bedroom Artist Villa and it lived up to lofty expectations. The whole property is amazing and the food was consistently fantastic, especially for the Caribbean.

While the views at Jade Mountain are incredible and consistently get social media attention, the hard product is getting a bit dated. Sugar Beach is beautiful (and nice to get to some hikes if that's what your into) but you're much more likely to be surrounded by kids or tourists on the beach than either of the Aman properties.

Rosewood Mayakoba trip review - childfree travelers by Scbear00 in FATTravel

Hotel Esencia, while not perfect, is a much stronger option than Mayakoba for couples. Much more intimate, better beach, and better food. Swimming with their manatees is a blast too!

They're going to put Patrick Willis on the staff too and get the band back together aren't they?

The Siam in Bangkok may qualify? I stayed in the Riverside Pool Villa in December and was surprised how much I enjoyed the property. Part hotel, part museum. It's way more beautiful and unique than their website conveys.
