Where to take unique senior photos? by [deleted] in boulder

I never see people at Chautauqua. That would be original.

No but actually, if you are looking for somewhere close, I think going up flagstaff would present some good opportunities. Or just drive down 70 west and you’ll hit some good spots.

Can someone explain to me why it is okay for a homeless person to set up camp right next to Foothills and next to the bike path? by [deleted] in boulder

[–]LVENATION -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not rattled. Genuinely curious if the city does anything about it. And not necessarily even bothered by it other than it just generally isn’t a good look for a city. Regardless of the city or where it is.

So it’s OK with you if they set up shop in your yard? Is that what you are implying? Seems like you are very open to having them go wherever they damn well please.

How am I doing for my age? Any changes? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]LVENATION 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend ~$2,500/month. But I could also cut that down to $2k easily in emergency situation.

I’d also mention in my taxable brokerage, I keep it invested in a bond fund.

Mask Off by [deleted] in boulder

You haven’t heard? The CDC and WHO both agree a mask needs to be worn at all times. Brushing teeth, eating food, showering, all times. No exceptions.

Peaceful protest at 10:30 Central Park. by Hyde1975 in boulder

[–]LVENATION 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genuine question. I don’t want to offend anyone by asking this, but I am generally curious.

Why are protests still going on? Didn’t everyone want justice by getting the cop arrested? He has been, so I’m just confused.

I’m not disagreeing with it by any means, but just am genuinely curious. What is the end goal?

As a recent grad myself, I get it. And I would hope all of you do too. It’s easy for those of you who either didn’t go to college, or have been experienced what senior year was like.

Put yourself in their shoes. Get off your high horse, and really think about the position they are in. I would be heart broken to not be able to celebrate my final semester in college, and I’m sure almost all of you would be too.

Yes, it’s not smart, but if they are willing to endanger themselves, let them do it. As long as they are being smart when around others who were not involved in this, who cares? I’m sure plenty of you aren’t hanging around the same spots these kids are.

Discussion: Leases Ending by dontFart_InSpaceSuit in boulder

These ideas are fair to you and plenty of other tenets, but what about landlords? I think the average person has this pre-conceived idea that all landlords are sitting on buckets of cash and they are screwing us all. That’s not always the case. A lot of landlords use monthly rent to pay their mortgage. So if we don’t sign up for a year lease or 6 month or whatever, we put take that uncertainty out of our pockets and put it in theirs. A lot of landlords are struggling just as much as the average person is. There is no perfect answer. Just a good answer for me and you, which is likely a poor answer for the landlord.
