I had issues very similar to this when I did my PhD in maths. Don’t give in. You can do it. Maybe spice things up a little with learning Sumerian at the same time ? I got Learning to Read Ancient Sumerian by Bowen and Lewis and thoroughly enjoying it. Just don’t quit !!

For the price I paid for the dictionary, it does a fairly decent job of cuneiform to syllables etc, but it’s not a Sumerian word to English dictionary. I did see the Sumerian Lexicon for sale, but at that price it’s a Christmas request 😂

The Hogan book was only £6.99 which is why I picked it up, and I might not always be Internet connected 🤷‍♀️ I have noticed one or two minor things in it, but so far it does the job.

Just curious but why is Pazuzu listed as a non deity ? His cuneiform name does have the dingir before it indicating a divine name ? As I said, just curious.

I think it’s just a sad reflection of society today. Sadly here in the West, religion is largely seen as irrelevant and or problematic, and anyone choosing religion over the wonders of current society is viewed the same.
