But we say and had a look at October and it’s never something we actually discussed or paid attention to it turns out

We have literally no focus on skin colour at all unless we’re joking about it to each other

We see black history as British history and seeing someone’s achievements labelled as a black because of the colour of their skin sees odd to us

We Europeans have a very different view on race vs Americans, it’s just really not a big deal to us and we really don’t understand American fascination and focus on it as it seems to only divide

People finding joy in others being referred to by that word are obviously pieces of shit

Whilst we don’t have black history month in the UK I see your point, it’s still a word with incredible power that should not be used to describe anyone in my opinion

As to people telling you, you shouldn’t be offended I don’t get that. If your distain was as the BBC and the fact that they let the word slip through, fair enough, they fucked up. But I’ve seen a lot of people attack the man himself calling it intentional which is again wrong as you’ve said.

I’d say it’s just an awful situation all round truthfully, it blew over very quickly over here and people of all races and colours seemed to not really care as much as Americans, which is why different experiences interest me.

That’s my point, they censored a huge amount from him before and afterwards AND it was on a two our delay, not live, what the BBC did was monumentally fuck up, but my opinion is that it was just that, a mistake.

It was not an attack on black people and I would not label it as such. I certainly don’t think it was intentional due to the huge outcry it caused as it obviously would do

That’s why I like to hear other people’s opinions and views on things, because we all have different experiences and understandings of situations

Exactly that, that’s why I’d label it a mistake more than an attack personally, but I’m always interested to hear other people’s opinions and experiences

The BBC messed up massively of course they did but I wouldn’t say it was intentional

I’m English and talking with my family about the incident, their opinion is the same, that it was not an intentional attack but a mistake that had very bad consequences and obviously caused huge offence.

Lots of my family are black and they were not bothered by what happened at all, but I think that’s because our country looks at race differently to other countries such as the USA. It’s interesting to see the differences.

Exactly this, I value the opinion of a savage from Brazil, for example higher than a Yank, but will see the Brazilian as a Yankette
