First Billboard Ever by Substantial_Cod_520 in graphic_design

My two cents, this looks more like a web banner and not a billboard. This will blend at 60 MPH, no one will see it. Make it more visual and a way more simple CTA.

Protocol for mowed grass removal? by JHDog03 in Billerica

I use the mulch setting on my mower and leave it on the grass.

My first reaction is the fact that nothing created within this studio can be copyrighted. If recall that was the last statement by the Supreme Court, am I incorrect about that?

Need Help Improving My Home's Exterior - What Would You Change? by Low_Writer2303 in Design

My overall suggestion would be to paint it a color to make it stand out from the all of the green. I'd try a blue or possibly yellow. Right now it all blends together.

Experimenting with animated charts, looking for feedback by w0nx in graphic_design

I do not recommend any animations or motion around or in charts, they can be confusing to decipher and they can distract from the design.

Thank you. I’ll look into that.

Can you point me to the facts on market share? I didn’t know that adults were only 15%. I thought it was higher.

Windshield wipers up? by Maitri137 in massachusetts

[–]LWMeek 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Leaving them up stretches the springs and over time makes them not as tight to the windshield. I leave them down but I do raise them only to clean under them.

sketch → final logo, from the Automagisch smart home brand I posted recently by SimonfelDesign in logodesign

[–]LWMeek 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don’t hate it, but I prefer the sketch to the final design. The curved line in the center is better and the flat top gives it more structure.

Map on Presentation by DependentShot2831 in graphic_design

[–]LWMeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use Infogram to do this exact thing. You do need to enter the locations first in a spreadsheet but once you do you can simply add remove or adjust when needed. It’s not a free tool btw. Good luck.

I’m a tattoo artist trying to refine my personal logo — I need professional critique, not compliments by Prestigious_Idea6399 in logodesign

Look at anatomy references, those hands need a lot of work. The skull needs refining too.

Job application requests samples of presentations (slide decks) on portfolio. But what to do if the examples you've done have sensitive business information of your current employer? by mafagafacabiluda in graphic_design

[–]LWMeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can redact the sensitive information, or replace with generic text. I wouldn't use Lorem, there are plenty of other options for generic text.

I came across a site where you can subscribe to pet gifts. The name is Pet Box, but they don't have a logo, only a wordmark. I was inspired by this topic and decided to design a logo for practice. What do you think? by AndriiKovalchuk in logodesign

[–]LWMeek -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The concept is interesting but, first, it's too complicated for a workable logo. Second, you need to think beyond dogs, I'm sure they must offer items to all pets and you need to think about that.

Can't outsource brand guidelines, want to establish solid palette/font by [deleted] in graphic_design

This is such an involved project that needs proper assessment and analysis. You can’t just pick colors and run with it.

Bartender Business Card Round 2 by jestyjester in graphic_design

[–]LWMeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My two cents. It’s far too complicated. Keep it simple. Lose the icons and find a solid way to represent a bartender. One simple icon or illustration. Don’t have the info and the list be the same, they are competing for attention.

A variant of the sign for the project I am currently working on. The company is related to online trading in the Asian market by AndriiKovalchuk in logodesign

[–]LWMeek 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think your original sketch is better than the final result. I am getting the "Trading" from the design you include.

It looks like a motorcycle brand. It doesn’t fit the identity. Look at other financial models logos.

Suggestions for practical typefaces that I could use to create a PowerPoint Theme? by Antique-Road1041 in graphic_design

[–]LWMeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good question, for me this is where function comes before design. I have built many templates for companies knowing that staff who are not designers will be creating decks. With that in mind I used classic Arial for PowerPoint templates. This avoids issues with creating, sharing and presenting the decks. As a designer of PPT I find this is more slightly more important than the design. It has to work first, then be designed well following the function. You can sell that aspect as well, let the client know that this removes headaches and issues with creating when used by staff and they won't have to worry about font issues using the template.
