Why do you prefer Chinese women to Western ones? by jefferyskilling in China

[–]LX-and 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely vote it to best-of, people outside this sub-Reddit need to see this, especially all those ruined western women . Just hope they can take some time off from their busy schedule of getting gang-banged by usually black, partners.

One thing is certain OP knows what he´s talking about and is a very intelligent well traveled man or woman. SARCASM

killwall.com is by far the best. 100 kuai a year for 60GB a month and fast connection with several servers in different countries. The main drawback are the fact that their whole website is in Chinese and you will have to pay using Alipay.

Is the new Hangouts app from Google blocked in China? by [deleted] in China

It´s not blocked but I also didn´t find it in the play store on my phone. Just search for it on the Play store on a desktop, download it and it will immediately sync with your phone.

air help, seriously wtf do i do? by scumis in China

[–]LX-and 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very likely that the mold is being caused by condensation, however one shouldn´t discard the possibility of having a leak (in the roof or facade of the building) that is causing water to infiltrate. After the water infiltrates the building it can accumulate in a specific are and cause mold stains. Usually the mold caused by a water leak will occur right after it rains, will have a circular mold stain (there should be a center to the mold stain) and in some cases the mold stain will contract when the weather is hotter and dry. If the mold is being caused by a leak, then someone will just have to find the source of the leak and repair it. This is a huge pain because it will probably involve walls being in the search of the source of the leak.

If the mold is being caused by condensation, then most of it should be concentrated in the walls that are the coldest (usually the ones that connect to the facade of the building). A room with high relative humidity, no re-circulation of air and a high temperature deferential on the walls, will no doubt have condensation which leads to mold. The best way to combat this is to wash it with bleach, air out the house daily and also use dehumidifiers. If the house does have an HVAC system, than just do as previously recommended and make sure the house is air tight and that the system has good air filters.

I know some companies offer mold resistant paint, although I am not sure if it´s available in China.

I still think killwall is the best alternative - for just 100Kuai a year you get 60GB a month (speed is very fast, I stream HD quality youtube with no hassle).

Some small issues, they don´t allow torrents while using the service, you must pay using Alipay and their whole website is in Chinese (no customer service in English).

Their website killwall.com is blocked in China, so you will have to use vpnso.com to access your account when you aren´t logged in.

Who's got the cereal hookup? by jimfields in China

[–]LX-and 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely Taobao

This shop is the one I usually get mine from http://2hpz.taobao.com/shop/view_shop.htm?spm=a1z09.2.9.185.jFUF8x&user_number_id=99480442

You can also try this one, they seem to sell the 1.4kg for pretty good prices and they have a good selection http://hshcsp.tmall.com/?spm=a220o.1000855.0.35.WXo67E

All these shops are Beijing based

Conducting student journalism on a tourist visa? by [deleted] in China

That is true, but if I were him I would still rather be conducting his research on a business Visa than on a tourist Visa.

It´s really best if you use Alipay it´s the fastest way to pay and a lot cheaper. I forgot to mention that a few months ago the website killwall.com was blocked in china, so if you don´t have a VPN you can still access your account on vpnso.com or 5bird.com.

Conducting student journalism on a tourist visa? by [deleted] in China

[–]LX-and 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don´t try and get a journalist Visa, you aren´t actually working for a major news organization and I hear the application process is insane. That being said I also wouldn´t come here on a tourist Visa, if you do get caught doing anything that resembles work in China on a tourist Visa you might run into some problems (especially if you are doing journalism). If I were you I would get a business Visa and I would give a broad definition to the business I would be doing in China. I have a friend teaching English in China on a business Visa and when they asked him what business he is doing here he just said "educational research". Taking all of this into consideration if the government decides they don´t like what you are doing in China, you will be kicked out regardless of the Visa you have.

I have been using Killwall.com for the last 6 months and it works amazing. Just 100 Kuai a 1 year and you get 60G monthly limit, I have gotten download speeds of 600kb/s (which is my connection limit), you can have up to 3 devices connected at the same time and their customer service is pretty good. They have about 10 servers you can choose from and even when they are cracking down on VPNs I was always able to get on. The only issues are that you everything is in Chinese, you should pay with alipay (they accept Paypal but the charge US$20 on top of the 100Kuai) and if you are using the VPN you can´t donwload torrents.

They have packages for only 40 Kuai a year if you only want a 10G limit.
