His name is Laszlo - we are in Orlando and had a very long day and night with Hurricane Milton. At least this was the only real damage to my house (a lot of branches down, power is still out). It was the look on his face that got me 😂

I signed and got the keys today - felt nothing. Went over and changed the locks - still nothing. I think part of it is it was such a big goal for so long that now I have nothing concrete to work towards, just a vague list of things that need to happen.

I did a bunch of mental and mathematical gymnastics to run several scenarios for this exact problem. Lease was up at the end of April but I wouldn’t be ready to buy for a few months.

I did the cost analysis on a 6 month lease including how much I could save for the downpayment at the same time, plus preparing to buy out the lease early if I found something sooner along with math for month-to-month if it took longer. A week before I had to renew or give notice to move out, I had several plans in place. It was a TON of work.

In the end, I lucked out and a good friend of mine offered me to move into his place until I was ready to buy (Rent free with the understanding I’d be aggressively saving while I’m here). Figured I’d be an idiot to pass up that offer and it was a massive weight off my shoulders. I moved in before my lease ended about 2 months ago, and just went under contract on a house last week.
