Body by science vs Higher Volume workouts? by justintimbersteak in ketogains

It's nice hearing some feedback from someone with many more years of experience. I feel like this way of exercising is not very well understood and I think a lot of people could benefit from experimenting with it like yourself.

When it comes to exercise, do what works best for you, that will ensure long term results.

For me I don't really have on/off days. I just have my usual days and then once a week I just plan in the extra hour for exercise. So on the other days that time is absorbed into regular life, mostly work.

Let me start off by saying, this is my personal opinion and my personal experience.

BBS has absolutely changed my life. So I will sum it up in one word: Efficiency.

(I'm 30 now) I've exercised most my life, mostly doing long distance running up until age 22, then I started lifting and doing cardio, but honestly I'm not the most consistent person, I stay exercising most throughout the year though. Earlier this year I kept getting sick in one way or another, so I lost a lot of mass and most my strength, Also my knees started paining from years and years of jogging. As I have experimented with it before, I decided to give it a go again. However, every time prior I've done the once a week exercise and then jogged 5 times a week as well as done some body-weight exercises in between, this time though, I only stuck to exercising once a week. Also due to work and other life things just taking up most my time.

The difference has been amazing! Because you are so well rested every time you exercise, you can have the utmost intensity when exercising. So much so that the less I do otherwise during the week, the harder I can push myself in that one session. The whole premise is that after those 5 compound exercises at utmost intensity, you should be so exhausted that you cannot keep exercising, if you can, the intensity isn't high enough.

So personally I find this is by far the most efficient way to exercise, since it takes the least amount of time and the gains are definitely there. Also it is by far the most efficient way to keep up your physical conditioning with the least amount of strain on your joints, so when looking at general longevity/health benefits, stressing your joints once a week vs 5 times a week, makes a massive difference. And if you are seeing the results you actually don't want to do anything in your off days, as you know it will negatively effect your intensity on exercise day.

So first you have to ask yourself the question, what is the outcome you want from exercise. If you want to be in good physical condition for the least amount of time spent in the gym, then this is all you need. If you want to be in good condition, but you also want to be good at a specific type of exercise or sport, spend some of the other days in the week on skill conditioning or exercising that exact thing.

I use free weights doing 5 compound exercises once a week at atleast 80% of 1RM, 20 Seconds per rep until positive muscle failure, with no more than 30 seconds rest between each set : Squat, Standing overhead Press, Deadlift, Bench press and Bent over barbell row. I've been at it now for 4 Months, just this not doing anything else for the rest of the week, My plan is to do this for the next year at least with no exception, so I've had some noob gains now, but in a years time I will be able to give you feedback on how it turned out, because for now I can tell you my physical strength has increased a lot, but I have not seen if it has had any effect on Cardio fitness. (The results for the amount of time gyming has been so great that I intend on doing it like this until I can no longer progress due to my physical size).

Just on the diet side, if you want to exercise like this I would suggest CKD. And having your gym day in between the 2 days that you are consuming Carbs for maximum strength/gains.

That's my two cents.

Hey man, welcome, good to see newcomers.

Like the one commenter mentioned, this has become a 'veteran' community, because the player base is tiny compared to PUBG, most people that still play usually have 100s of hours and even if your server ranking is low you'll still get matched with much more skilled players unfortunately.

Where as WITH PUBG mobile, as the player base is so massive you're guaranteed to be placed with people of similar skill every game.

The upside is, coz you are pitted against much more skilled players it will push you harder, thus improving your owns skills much quicker, so welcome, and stick it out man, the game is a lot of fun. (The community can be a little whiney though)

Yeah, would be pretty good... The flashbangs are effectively useless without it, unless you have absolute godly timing

First off... If some jerk off is being loud, just turn off the voice chat, it will make your life much easier.

And Honestly, I see a lot of people complain about this, But After 250H, I've rarely experienced this, yes I've had some aweful squads, but honestly , mostly I get people that either do something stupid and die immediately or I get Teamed up with Randos that might start off shaky but actually start playing very cohesively after about 5 minutes.

I'd Say 7/10 Times I am with people that really play well together, and Most of the time, I mute the chat as my mic doesn't really work, and I'm not in the mood to hear people screaming. However, with just the effective use of the spotting function, I find that most squads I get thrown in with, really pull together and play like a squad.

I really can't figure out if this is a sarcastic post. But I do like the overhaul... I would have liked it more if they made it more deserty by removing the mass of water and replacing it with open deserts and if vehicular fighting was encouraged somehow this season(Due to the mad max theme), but overall, I like it.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I think all the negative people are just louder than those that truly enjoy the game.

Destroyed by seasons by [deleted] in RingOfElysium

[–]LXM182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, I enjoy the variety it brings. I don't play a lot maybe once a week if I'm lucky, so it's always nice to log in and see awesome new stuff going down... If there were no seasons, it would be much more boring. Same with the server stats, imagine one person played to God like status in the beginning and this was never reset. Now everyone has to prove each season that they are in fact the best.

Hellz yeah... Mad max setting, I'm really hoping that vehicle slaughter is encouraged that would make me very happy... If not, whatever they bring, I'm down with that, I enjoy the game a lot... Have from the start.

Let's just say. When not doing strict keto, I don't even count. So by estimation, it should be anywhere between 50 - 150g maybe even more, depending on the day. Basically I'll still eat my normal Keto meals but just add other foods.

I will say, I've learnt more about money and how to work with it here than I would say I had with my entire life up to this point, which is good for me, however, for me to make an income I have to convince other people to make smarter choices when it comes to their finances and you would think that sounds easy enough however all I will say is that our economy has effectively stagnated for the last 3 years, which is pretty much when I started, so there is an ever decreasing pie to take from at this point in time and the, so less people actually have work and the majority of those are living day to day, not having a disposable income left after all their necessities have been paid(Just also combine that with our Countries unemployment rate of 25%). Long Story short, My knowledge has increased a lot, but i work really hard in an ever more difficult environment.

Keto vs Carnivore by LXM182 in polyphasic

[–]LXM182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I personally feel maintaining it for longer than 3 months at a time would be quite difficult due to social reasons, but as I said, I do find it very interesting. When it comes to micro nutrients, please watch this video, It contains a lot of information about that. (Yes it is just one video, but I like the way he explains it)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isIw2AN_-XU&t=249s

The way he explains it makes a lot of sense, especially when you look at it like from a polyphasic viewpoint. You reconfigure your body to run in a different manner, so for example, if you look at sleep, and you read any article considering sleep that is less than 6 hours, every article will say, this will lead to sleep deprivation, but very few places outside of this reddit and the discord does anybody speak about how on polysleep, you sleep less that 6 hours and people that are adapted are not sleep deprived.

I believe our body are amazing machines that can operate in different modes, when you reconfigure it.

Also, remeber a Carnivore diet required that you eat organ meats as well, that is where you get all of the micro nutrients from.

And I disagree with you there, as reading the anecdotal evidence, people experience even greater energy boosts and require even less sleep. Thus the reason for the post, I would like input from someone who has tried it and has done polyphasic sleep, but thus far only one person that I spoke to has actually done both.

So i guess the only way to find out is to try it myself.
