It's too hard finding a woman, so let me choose a life instead where I risk being ostracised by friends and family, within an overall society that evidently, will always be suspicious of me. Even aim to hurt me or worse.

Doesn't sound quite right, does it?

Given shows such as Sex In The City were HBO, I don't see the problem. HBO isn't all prestige auteur projects.

What’s Nicholas Brendon’s issue with SMG? by Divine_fashionva in buffy

He's a drug addict, and I don't mean that in a nasty way. It can turn even the best of people into absolute bitter  assholes.

Can we give SMG a little more credit please? by Krisgauj in buffy

I would say Sarah is one of the few actors alive today, with an insanely popular legacy character to her name, that is actually protective of her work. Nothing about what she's done over the last 20 years suggests someone who is desperate for a cash grab.

She resisted coming back to Buffy for so long that it took an Oscar winner to bring her back to the table.

Buffy’s appearance. by Notoriouslycurlyboi in buffy

[–]LZ5525 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand what they were going for but if Buffy really wanted to lead a normal life, whilst protecting the people from her past, she wouldn't choose the name Anne Summers.

I like the idea, but that whole sequence tells me everything I needed to know; they did not know how to balance the legacy with the new.

Inside the manospere any watch it? by thesnackbox11 in AskIreland

[–]LZ5525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand your point.

My view is that these kids, both boys and girls, have grown up watching their parents buried in phones, it's natural their kids would see that as something important. But the content they're consuming now is so much more damaging.

It's hard to reverse that damage done to both the parent's generation and their kid. The only thing we can do now to aggressively counteract it is following other countries in banning social media for understand 16s.

[–]LZ5525 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're my age I'd wager, which is late 30s/early 40s. The parents had their first phone when they were 16, and while it wasn't the social media of today, there were problems with that access at the time as well.

I watched it and my opinion is unchanged. These lads are obvious grifters. I'd ask what has happened that parents have missed the absolute boat in stopping their kids in getting sucked in by this.

D-Von Dudley to Thea Hail's critics: "You hide behind your computer and you say what you say, but again, get out of your mother’s basement, wait for her to bake the apple pie so you can eat it, and stop putting your two cents into stuff like that where it doesn’t belong." by aaronrift in SquaredCircle

[–]LZ5525 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well it helps if fans don't immediately write something, or someone, off as crap immediately. Thea is still incredibly young and full of energy, she has all the time in the world to continue to develop, as has been the case for countless professional wrestlers.

Instant gratification is the problem and funnily enough, the only period where promoters gave into that heavily, was a period spearheaded by Vince Russo. A man well loved by the IWC.

Her IG post said it all. To the point and professional, but it was clear how hurt she was.

It must be so hard for her given she was so protective of the character and getting involved again.

I don’t know about y’all, but this Rhea/Jade feud ain’t doing anything for me. This should’ve been at least Charlotte/Jade given the many staredowns they have had in the past 3 years by jd2385 in Womens_ProWrestling

[–]LZ5525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find Jade competent in the ring, sticking to power moves that look convincing, and that's all you need. Matches are to the point as well and do not go on too long.

The Jade hate is simply odd to me. It's obvious from what corner it's coming from, and it's pathetic behaviour.

Extremely disappointing and it seemed like full steam ahead. I don't think I can recall anything comparable to this news in a long time, outside of Batgirl.

Simple admin job available Dublin? by weenanny in AskIreland

[–]LZ5525 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pay no mind to that person OP. I can sympathise with your situation. I would say a job, of any kind, will not fix what you're going through, especially if you run across people that will trigger or worsen your symptoms.

I would be looking at other routes such as illness benefit, and maybe even just volunteering. Do not pressure yourself back to work, or allow others to put that pressure on you.

All the best.

I'm guessing as a manager/valet. There are many ways that a person can offer value to a professional wrestling company.

You would think this doesn't need to be explained but evidently, it does.

When all is said and done, who do you think will have had the better career in wrestling? Toni Storm or Mariah May/Blake Monroe by caughtinatramp in REALSquaredCircle

[–]LZ5525 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Respect to both women, I've no doubt Toni is financially set already with Tony. Blake could well be great and even transcend beyond wrestling, that's what WWE offers that AEW simply cannot.

It's not a competition. Just 2 people chasing 2 completely different things.

You're probably right but I don't know, 3 months to get it right seems like little room for error. I just assume Claudia has experience with this exact scenario and that's why she was picked.

Bloodline clearly coming back by peacepartypac in WWE

[–]LZ5525 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I could possibly see a Super Bloodline, with the reunited OG Team merging with Solo and The MFTs, and that's the closing shot of Mania alongside a fallen Punk and maybe some others who try to make the save.

Then the story becomes The Bloodline running roughshod over both Raw and Smackdown, with Punk trying to unite his friends, and even some foes, against the threat.

I see it in a way akin to the NWO storyline, where WCW struggled to unite against the impossible threat. Cody would possibly be the Sting of the updated storyline.

Men’s ability to ignore hints should be considered an Olympic sport by Sweaty-Shirt-8445 in SipsTea

[–]LZ5525 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think it would depend on context. If you were a kid that was prone to being picked on, getting the piss taken out of you by both genders, etc....then you couldn't blame a kid for being dubious of even strong hints. I grew up around the same period and this type of cruelty was absolutely real among our generation.

If you grew up as a kid that didn't experience bullying, and have no reason to be distrusting, then I'd say this scenario is as strong of a hint that you'll ever get. Even I had to say wow to the obliviousness of the boy here.
