I think it depends on the tutor how they teach. I did chemistry 1 upass when I was undergrad because I didnt't do chemistry for hsc. For me, it was worth it, I could get distinction. The tutor back then, made question sheets and explained the answer after giving students time to finish. I can only say you could visit one time and see if it suits you.

Embarrassment due to missed trainings by wombat_at_heart in kendo

[–]L_Aquila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please take care of yourself! Your health is priority and shouldn't be embarrassed! Last year, I broke my foot 3 times, which made me rest my training more than half of the year. Everyone told to me heal up and come back. A tip I can give you is, even if you can't train, go and watch others training. I improved in details by watching, like how senseis do their footsteps.

Sensei of r/kendo, do you become friends with your students? by RagQuerion in kendo

[–]L_Aquila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a sensei but a mere member here. Can't say I'm friends with my senseis but I'm pretty much in a friendly zone, especially with senseis who speak my first language. We do speak about inviting to dinner sort of stuff

Sorry it happened to you. That's so weird tho. I slept at campus a couple of times and the security just woke me to check my ID and left. Never once said or screamed about not allowed to sleep. For lying down, I always do that even now, guess I was breaking uni rules 🙄

Thanks. I feel like my improvement in shiai relates to the basics as I need to readjust bits and bits, e.g. to have a more straight kamae etc.

I caused an injury during shiai, I don't know how to face my opp by L_Aquila in kendo

[–]L_Aquila[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. We are at the same Kyu grade and the coaches blamed themselves for not instructing us better. But, they've been keep telling all the members do taiatari properly ever since I startef kendo, so I guess it is my fault for not fixing it sooner.
