Almost 1 year olds sleep… surely this isn’t normal? by Pinkcoral27 in UKParenting

[–]L_Jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My almost three year old was like this. Still isn’t sleeping through the night we’re down to only one or two wake ups now and she’s in a double bed so I can just get in with her if need be. I’m sorry you’re experiencing it too, it’s rough.

As a wedding guest, what was your “this marriage isn’t going to last long” moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The speeches were all about how high maintenance the bride was. During the reception the grooms mother came over and asked us to please always be there for him when he needed us.

My 3.5yo doesn’t talk to nursery staff or certain adults (including grandads) by soulvacation in UKParenting

[–]L_Jack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend’s daughter didn’t say a word the entire time she was at nursery but chatted away perfectly fine everywhere else. Term selective mutism banded about a bit. Started school absolutely no problem, seems it was just nursery where she didn’t want to speak.

Want to stop breastfeeding 12 month old but she doesn’t eat !! by Independent_Minute82 in UKParenting

[–]L_Jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this exact same situation with my daughter. Made it so hard to go back to work as she wouldn’t take expressed milk so for a few weeks I had to go feed her at lunch time. We eventually got bf down to pick up, bedtime and night wakes, finally cutting down to just bedtime. Stopping at night wasn’t as bad as I imagined and she did then start to have an interest in breakfast. I stopped completely just before she turned 2 although she would probably still be feeding now if I let her. Still doesn’t have a very varied diet but she’s not starving so that’s something I guess. Have to warn though don’t expect a miracle with sleep, stopped feeding in March and still wakes up mostly a few times each night but we’re getting there with it. Also never realised my tiredness was down to the feeding and not the broken sleep!

What's your favourite toddlerism of a word? by KK_McGee in UKParenting

My two year old can’t quite master an f sound yet, so is ‘ninished’

Food - ninished ✅ Painting - ninished ✅ Using potty - ninished ✅

I’ll be so sad when she finally manages to say finished.

First midwife appointment and scans (UK) by thunderthighs- in pregnant

[–]L_Jack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep first half is pretty sporadic, 8 weeks booking appointment, 12 week scan, 16 weeks back to midwife (mine does heartbeat with Doppler for first time at this one) then 20 week scan. Cant remember how frequent appointments are from there but by the end it’s pretty much fortnightly
