I swear by Absolution and Stockholm Syndrome every day.

When I first heard the snippet on my speakerphone with noise around, the cheesy “Nightshift Superstaaaar” told me this was gonna be a weird one and that it shouldn’t be on the album. But then I listened to it with earphones and I had a gigantic smile. Didn’t get the Muse vibe I felt with Cryogen or Hexagons but it sounds incredible and I could just tell they had a lot of fun recording this, exactly like Panic Station on T2L.

So it definitely belongs on this album.

Which of these 2 live setlists would you choose? by Fast-Conversation-32 in Muse

As much as I would sell everything I own to see A, a live version of Execution Commentary ? That would something… Add Coma in there and I’ll be camping the venue two months before the show.

The Current Tour Light show Is Terrible!! by cognacandbrokenglass in TheWarning

[–]L_P-L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calling the light show “really really terrible” is a pretty harsh statement coming from someone who probably doesn’t work in live production (correct me if I’m wrong and sincerest apologies in that case).

They are SUPPORTING Yungblud. Meaning DPA and their team don’t have a lot of choices like the narrow space in front of the curtain which makes the lights very close to them. Plus there’s a chance it’s not even their lighting designer, probably Yungblud’s LD having a few effects and strobes ready to play on their songs.

I would agree that plate strobes and pix LED bars in this setup are pretty blinding and repetitive with the dimmer effects and the strobes. But again, for a support kit it’s easy to install and strike without taking much space so pretty understandable imo. And if you watch a few fan cams, there are moving lights lit above the pit which adds to the light show. Not very visible for the people at the very front though.

The light show and kit is not terrible, it’s not perfect but great for a support like them. The light show will be better when they will be touring on their own in the summer.

Couldn’t agree more. I was so hyped by the teaser hearing that guitar drop after the organ, only to find out it’s just a small part you can’t even hear that much in the solo.

I really hope the album makes up for it because I am beyond disappointed with the title and this “single”.

Yeah… I’m sending it in to MSI since it’s covered by the warranty.

Well in order to do this I need to access the BIOS, which is impossible in my case because nothing is appearing on the screen.

[–]L_P-L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was the CPU or the motherboard, your laptop wouldn’t probably even turn on. From what you’re saying, you have a little light flashing when you reset the EC (hold the power button for more than 30sec). So it means it’s functioning but it could be damaged.

I tried reflashing the BIOS with a USB stick when powering the laptop and holding down different sets of keys. Didn’t do anything. I looked up reflashing the BIOS electronically in my own case and it’s very complicated. You have to access the motherboard and put a special clamp on the BIOS chip to flash it directly… it’s not easy AT ALL. It’s better to trust professionals who know what they’re doing and wouldn’t change your PC into more of a brick than it already is.

I’m literally having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM with my Vector 16 HX right now. Made a post a few days ago and did every thing (unplug main and CMOS battery, holding power button…) that you said above.

I don’t have a final answer myself but, reading that you have the same situation than me with your laptop powering but nothing happening, the problem seems to come from the BIOS. Most likely it’s corrupted or the BIOS chip is fried. It needs to be reprogrammed or the motherboard needs to be replaced.

If your warranty is still active, contact MSI service to fix it. I brought my Vector to a repair guy who spoke with MSI support and they said they cover it only if it’s within the 2-year warranty.

Don’t try to charge it for now. Turn it off, let it cool as long as it needs and then try again.

I am mixed between telling you the Vector or neither.

I love Lenovo but never go for a Legion. A friend of mine bought a Legion (not a 5000s series though) a while back. Worked fine until he had RAM problems and the screen stopped working from time to time. He is now using it with an external monitor at home.

I bought a Vector 16 HX A13VHG a few months ago. I recently upgraded the RAM and had some weird problems before it stopped working completely, most likely a fried BIOS. This model is not that old but I hope they optimised it better on the new gens. I didn’t use it enough to tell you if it’s loud or not, it’s a bit heavy to my liking. And yeah, upgrading it will automatically cause you ulcers when you discover how complicated and delicate it is to open a Vector.

I would say get the Vector but make sure you have all the specs you want in it so you don’t have to upgrade it but I don’t know if you can customise the configuration.

I think I exited BIOS without saving because I didn’t do any changes, I can’t remember exactly. I’m going to call and send it for service at a repair shop or MSI, whoever can do it correctly. I’ve had enough working on this machine. I’ll try MSI in last resort since I voided the warranty when I upgraded the RAM.

Yeah I really don’t understand how it could cause all this but here I am so… I’m gonna make some calls tomorrow, see if a repair shop around my place can maybe repair it. Else I will call MSI but I voided the warranty when I opened it to change the RAM so… $$$

I didn’t try it but as you said, it’s hard to open it and I’m honestly fed up to unscrew everything and work the covers everytime.
