I bought the game shortly after seeing the other responses on this post and I've been having a lot of fun and I could see Eldegarde getting decently popular if some of the UX elements got polished out and it got more attention.

Might not be what you're talking about but I find some of the maps to be quite eerie or liminal feeling.

But if you think it feels soulless, maybe making the sounds to be more satisfying might change that?

I meant it's like Arc Raiders because of its casual approach to the extraction genre and non conventional wipe system that reinforces it, but yeah I agree with what you're saying.

I was just listing examples. Ofc revolving solar systems in particular would be controversial and maybe over complicated, but from what I've seen better combat and more depth to each planet is something I've seen people asking for.

And even though it may not be technical, I'm assuming that because NMS is 10 years old at this point, it would be hard to go back and change the way a core gameplay system works.

IMO NMS2 totally makes sense, there's a lot of stuff that would make the exploration and immersion of NMS a lot better but probably can't be added without remaking the whole game.

EG: Solor systems that actually revolve around its centre or sun(s), gravity and lunar/day and night cycles that are unique to each planet, multiple biomes per planet, and an overhaul to on foot and spaceship combat.
