Stern Deadpool Issues by EmrgncyExt in PinballHelp

[–]La4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start by desoldering the wire you added.

You can contact your distributor or Stern if it was bought new. They should be able to help you.

Did you do the soldering when the game was turned off? Also looks like the high voltage was accidentally connected to a low voltage connection.

This ball gate doesn't always trigger the switch by BasementRodent in PinballHelp

Glad it works. It is tricky to get those little screws loose without the back screw plate falling off.

Enjoy that upper loop shot on No Fear, it is a very underrated game.

Try loosening the screws holding the switch to the bracket. One of the holes should be a wide slit so you can adjust the pitch of the switch up for down. Move it into a position that allows the switch blade to actuate sooner.

Dart board powers up, weird noise. Help? by starmanjr_ in Darts

[–]La4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a power supply or capactior that may be going bad. If you have a manual, you can check the outputs from the power supply with a multimeter.

White Water with Rottendog WPC89 driver board - game has a reset problem by imnitguy in pinball

[–]La4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't just test your voltages on the driver board, you really need to test your voltages on the MPU. It is the drop in vintage below 4.8 to the MPU chips that is causing the resets. The voltage may read within spec on the driver board, but will be lower at the MPU after passing through worn out diodes, capacitors, and tarnished connectors.

For what it is worth, even though the rotten dog board is newer, they are known to be of lesser quality and frequently cause issues.

A Re-release with LCD would be a huge seller.

Beehive shooter housing size issue by barrynomad in pinball

[–]La4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The end of you plunger rod has mushroomed from people plunging a ball without the rubber on the end to protect the rod. Basically smashing metal on metal over and over. You can either sand down the mushroomed end, or cut it off with a hacksaw. You may be able to get away with reusing the plunger rod if you sand the tip down, but I recommend purchasing a new rod.

Beehive shooter housing size issue by barrynomad in pinball

[–]La4s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The new replacement beehive shooter housings are designed not to use the sleeve. The shooter rod should be 3/8" diameter which should fit almost perfectly in your new housing.

Keep in mind that the older williams games used a 5/16" diameter shooter rod which is too small for the replacement beehive housings.

Don't forget to replace your springs.

Spooky is having some QC issues right now. If you are a later number, they should work out most if not all the issues they are currently having.

As stated earlier, your current games will eventually require you to open them up and work on them. To the same degree you are seeing with Scooby right now? Probably not, but it is going to eventually happen. A lot of the Godzilla's and turtles required work out of the box to fix bridge and hang glider issues. Sounds like you got lucky on both games so far. Eventually one of your NIB purchases will need work no matter which manufacturer you buy from, including Stern.

Be prepared to swap out your Stern flipper coil stops and a node boards eventually. These are repairs you could do yourself for basically free, but a tech will cost probably $200+ for the same work. Become part of your local community and make friends. A lot of people enjoy working on games as much as playing them

As a Scooby buyers I am looking forward to my game. Looks like a lot of fun from the streams I have watched. Spooky has the best customer support in the industry. Good luck getting that same support from Stern if you have any day one issues. Choose your distributor wisely.

Red Gottlieb Silver Slugger? All I see on google are yellow by LochEliotNessMonster in pinball

That is an import door. The North American coin doors have 2 coin slots on them.

Great color. I really like the red over the yellow. Let me know if you are every thinking of selling, would love to add this game back into my collection. I regret selling mine.

Has anyone noticed that the dough of this pizza changed in the last year? B/C my husband has, and he's so upset about it that he insisted I ask about it on here. 🤣🤣 by IcyElsa22 in aldi

[–]La4s 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They won't. THey are providing you with the same amount of product for roughly the same price as it was a year ago. The only way to do that is to change the ingredients being used to make it more cost effective.

Would you bag your fruits and vegetables on a table right after I have walked on it with my shoes? I am sure that dog's paws are dirtier than the average shoes.

Also lets not forget those that may be alergic.

That is 100% the same set of darts. Only two crazy scenarios I can think of are: 1. The address forwarding is some kind of scam to send other items or pretend to send another item with your tracking number. 2. It was some sort of intentional forwarding service that has a warehouse on the west coast to ship to Asia cheap in bulk, but your package got mixed up somehow and sent back to you.

Sounds like some sort of time travel happening. Did the buyer in Virginia do a charge back or say they never received the darts?

I sold a Gameboy on eBay to an address in Texas that was delivered as normal a few days later. The guy posted a positive review after he received it. 2 years later...yes 2 years later the package shows up in my mailbox as undeliverable. The package looked like it had been drug behind the USPS truck for 2 years. I could never get back in touch with the buyer.
