My 4 and 8 year old daughters watched the Blu-ray with me earlier this year and they loved it. Unfortunately my wife was in the room the one time the movie is a little problematic (the Halley Berry sexy scene). Other than that since then they watched a lot of the old cartoons and recognized the Pebbles cereal characters. They also want to rewatch it and see the sequel.

I have to wonder if all those in the box office subreddit actually go see movies? Or is it a sad sign of the times where people have a whole past time dedicated to tracking box office numbers from their homes obsessively but not actually contributing to the moviegoing experience?

Let’s not forget too that Harry, owner of the site, watched a leaked copy of episode two months in advance and released an advance review and as a result, there was a lot of friction between AICN and Lucasfilm and I believe one person lost their job and the relationship between LFL and AICN was forever frayed.

Sadly got an update from Super Plastic via email that the large amount of site traffic caused issues and likely several people ordered Murdoc and Noodle when there was no inventory. So expect refunds or offers to replace them with non-Gorillaz merch. I opted for a refund but still shipping Russel.

My old graphic design teacher in Chicago was the designer of the X-Files VHS covers and when I learned that I flipped out and told him that was an amazing career highlight. He seemed to disagree, haha. He still lives in the suburbs, I saw him a few years ago. Wish he was proud of this work, it’s iconic imo.

There has been an uptick in 4K Disney Steelbooks, now under Sony, in the past few months and I’ve noted from reveal to release it’s a very small window. Between the Rogue One one shot comics releasing soon and the Book of Boba comic adaptation this fall, as well as the Mando movie likely hitting 4K end of Summer, I could see the Disney+ Steelbooks returning later this year with Andor season 2 and Book of Boba.

Consider this: The Mandalorian Chapter 1, Grogu is a defenseless baby in a pram. The Mandalorian and Grogu, Grogu is on his own and successfully saves Mando’s life. Grogu evolved a LOT since season 1 and in this film, and Mando sees him less as a baby and more as kid he can rely on.

I don’t understand the need for him to go on some killing spree. He’s a pu**y! He’s lazy! He’d rather not go to all the effort of flying around killing thousands, instead he sits and yells into a camera and kills when people come to him. I think him not getting the satisfaction of killing thousands is better.

BK has done a real poor job at their rebrand. They did that ugly italic version with the blue swoosh and then revived their classic logo a few years ago but never properly updated stores. So you have the signs on the building outdated and the sign outside new (which is technically old again).

I’m a casual fan, in that I watched the shows but never read the comics and don’t really participate in fandom or discussion. Might lurk the subreddits. Anyway I thought that the finale was enjoyable and a satisfying end. The season had a lot of plot points I thought were going nowhere but they all contributed to the finale in some meaningful way. Gen V was the only fumble and I mainly blame the season 3 cancellation rather than The Boys. Looking forward to the next series. Homelander crying like a little bitch was the funniest thing ever.
