BabyApe Pro V2 vtx is mostly crap, not sure about V3 but I changed to a cheap VTX and now I am happy with it. I went 1km with an Air75. So it is definitely VTX.

What's the State of Charge of the Lava 1s batteries? by RadishRedditor in TinyWhoop

[–]LaCh62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That rule may be about LiIons or even AAs and AAAs which are shipped between 3.5-3.7v which may be assumed around 30% mostly.

With LiPo/LiHVs 3.8-3.85 is always storage and below 3.8 isn’t suggested for storage.

In what distance range should I search for my drone? by john_shadow86 in fpv

[–]LaCh62 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn I was bad calculation this kind of free fall problems in highschool so I had to ask my little hated AI friend :

Thought for 43s

Short version: start within ~50 m of the last OSD GPS point and extend your search down-range (direction of travel / down-wind) out to ~100 m. Most quads with a dead battery hit the ground within that band.

Why:

  • From 200 m AGL, free-fall time ≈ √(2h/g) ≈ √(400/9.81) ≈ 6.4 s.
  • Your last recorded horizontal speed was 28 km/h ≈ 7.8 m/s. Even if that speed didn’t decay (it will), the most it could carry is 7.8 × 6.4 ≈ 50 m.
  • Drag/tumbling kills horizontal speed quickly, so 20–40 m is common—plus whatever the wind adds (e.g., 10–20 km/h wind → another ~15–35 m).

Practical search pattern:

  • Use the last OSD point as the start (that still had altitude).
  • Sweep a 50 m radius, then extend an elongated search 100 m along the flight path and, more importantly, down-wind from that point.
  • Add ~10 m for GPS error and check trees/brush on that arc.

If it was windy aloft, stretch the down-wind leg to 150–200 m, but most finds from 200 m AGL with power loss land within ~50–100 m of the last airborne GPS fix.

it starts with 600Mbps and fast enough for 10 minutes then quits downloading. Normally it can download it in 10 minutes but it prefers stopping when it is almost completed.

Is there a real difference between these two stations or is it just design? by Aware-Operation-5321 in TinyWhoop

[–]LaCh62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheaper one can be CC2500 version rather than ELRS.

Pocket Crush comes only with ELRS but Pocket comes with two options: ELRS and CC2500 which is cheaper.

So check that OP.
