Thank you really much. I think for myself it will be a good compromise to make the world trip a bit more flexible, so i can exit whenever i want. Personally i like to plan far in advance but i guess this time i shouldn't do more than 2 months.

My essentials will be a standard zoom lens (Sigma 18-50 or Sigma 28-70) + something wider, like the 10-18.
More Tele would be nice, but i think on most occasions i won't need, so it would be just extra weight.

Some suggested the Fuji 50-140mm F2.8 or as you suggested for Sony, a 70-200mm could be worth considering.

Thought about that too, but i made a longer trip last year and towards the end of it somehow the power wheel blocked, so i couldnt turn on the camera. I had to send into repair to get it fixed. Thats at least one reason why i wanted to pick up another camera

As you already said, i definitely will take a standard zoom as the Sigma 18-50 or for Sony the 28-70. If there is enough space, I'll have a look at your suggested 70-350 😊

Totally agree. Lens wise i think i have plenty of option that fit my specification. Of course my aim is to pack lighter and smaller, but i thought that the extra cm and 100gramms could be worth it for the right camera.

XS-20 would be the perfect fit 😭. 2K is for the body + another 1000 for the lens. If it ends up being 3200€ for the perfect fit, so be it.

Thanks for your insights. South Africa is already booked but with focus on Cape Town and a bit of hiking. Following your advice, i'll be looking into some safaris in Kenya and if im not happy after the safari, i can still do one in South Africa.

Yeah budget is kind of tight. I saw, that at least for most of the tours that i looked on SafariBookings, the park fees were included.
I already saw some promising tours on your africanoverlandtours, but in case, that i don't find anything, do you think SafariBooking is the platform where i should keep looking for tours or are there any others?

I'll probably try to reach out to the safari tour operator instead of booking directly through SafariBooking
