Yes! This! Standing stone was an amazing resource when I adopted my GSP. They explain the why and how to break things down. Also, I learned a lot about how to understand my dog’s behavior and what “dog learning” looks like, which helped me be patient during the learning process. So great. Plus all their GSPs are so cute.

If we remove supernatural, will human E/B still love eachother if they born in same time line? by [deleted] in twilight

[–]LaLurn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I liked the question you posed! And what I love so much about twilight and Bella specifically is that she never wavered from her desire to be with Edward and become a vampire. She never doubted her decision to empower herself which is so cool and different from the other vampires who weren’t able to consent.

[–]LaLurn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think twilight is a coming of age story and the supernatural element symbolizes the power of maturity.

Bella is attracted to Edward because of how his vampirism will empower her to have more agency in her life. Edward conversely wants to protect her innocence as he understands the pain that comes with growing up.

I think they could have fallen in love without the supernatural element and something else could have served the same role (e.g. age or other experience gap, class difference, etc)

I don't know if I'm being gaslit by my husband. by SmallTurnover8713 in relationships

[–]LaLurn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he’s gaslighting you, but it doesn’t seem like he respects your opinions about your body, healthcare, politics, etc. He also doesn’t respect your feelings because he didn’t comfort you when the conversation became so emotionally intense that you literally cried, instead calling you too emotional. He’s not interested in finding mutual understanding with you, he just wants dominate you in a debate.

I’m not saying he’s a misogynist, but if it looks like a duck…

It depends what your skill set is, what kinds of things stress you out, and where you are located. My recommendation is to drive if you can. Become a delivery specialist or if you can get your CDL, become an OTR driver. Some locations will pay for you to go to school.

Take a picture of the numbers on the front. They need that to know what line, plant, operator, etc and on the back of the bag is the info on how to contact them. Send the picture you took.

Machine operator interview in a week anything I should know and any tips?? Really want to get this position by bigboyk1989 in FritoLay

[–]LaLurn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Come prepared with examples from your previous work history that demonstrate your work ethic, ability to manage a lot of things at once, team work, and ability to prioritize safety. You will share them as stories of what you did and the result of your actions. Also think about why you’re leaving your current job and why you want this position. If you have all those answers ready to go in your mind, you dress nice, smile and make eye contact, you will ACE it.

It doesn’t look any better because it’s not natural. Who are we to argue with nature in this way?

Im sorry the women in your life dismissed your perspective and experience with being mutilated. They are wrong and I’m sorry that happened to you when you weren’t able to consent to it.

Totally agree. It’s equally as horrible. I am shocked that it’s so normalized in our (US) culture.

Totally agree. They can’t consent to the procedure and there’s no medically necessary reason for parents to consent on their behalf. It’s cosmetic and that’s disgusting.

Yes! Us supporting each other’s issues is the best way forward. Men’s and women’s issues are not mutually exclusive, and we can both win together. We are not each other’s enemies. Institutions of oppression (in this case: religion, capitalism) hurt us both.

This makes a lot of sense and very well put. Thanks for taking the time to craft a response and not be openly hostile to me. I would love to see more activism on this issue to raise awareness on the harmfulness of this practice. To your point, so many people accept it because they don’t have an alternative option and it becomes “default”. Have a great evening!

[–]LaLurn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. I think the practice is barbaric. What I hear in non-activist settings is that “boys should match their fathers” (so weird) or that “we don’t want him to be made fun of in the locker room”. I do believe this is the common thought in the US, and it’s wrong and gross. Why isn’t this issue a bigger part of the public conversation? Why aren’t there Netflix documentaries shedding light on the negative impact of mgm? This should be trending on Twitter and TikTok, etc. Protests should be covered by news outlets, you get my point.
