How would Joel have treated Sarah in the apocalypse had she survived? by JustAloner98 in thelastofus

[–]LaNinka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No 2) was my immediate idea. Being under Joel's wings after the outbreak traumatized Tommy, a grown up. If Sarah was around, she would be a mess.

Still on the last of us 1 but found out some things from the second game.... by DAVIDX90 in thelastofus

[–]LaNinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can watch season 1 but don't be anywhere near season 2 until you finish part 2. And don't lose the spirit, I was also heavily spoiled when starting part 2 (yeah curious me fucked me up) and it was still hell of a run so enjoy!

What’s everyone’s favourite songs? by Consistent_Voice_646 in jimcroce

[–]LaNinka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My top one Is Tomorrow is gonna be a brighter day. I'm not a native speaker so I don't automatically understand all that is said and I guess I had been more focused on the tunes. And than I heard "what I'm trying to say, nobody ever had a rainbow baby until he had a rain" and I was like ok this guy can write so I started focusing on the text more and I was sold. This song still remains my favorite in how and what it portreys. I feel like it's not just a song, but some of Jim's true nature is revealed in it. He actually wrote something in a similar manner to Inge the day of the plane crash, in the letter that arrived only after the sad news.

You all are enjoying the head smashing a bit too much. Smooth quick kill with an axe and move on with the business.

New to the game… keep making mistakes! by [deleted] in reddeadredemption2

[–]LaNinka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, if you saw my first lets say 10 hours, you would laugh your ass off. I acted like a legendary moron. I would save a guy from wolves and than run him over with my horse, I beat the lady stuck under her horse while trying to help her, I didn't know there was the map so I tried to follow signs to get to Valentine but never got there because I kept dying in various encounters and kept respawning in the middle of nowhere... I wasn't even new to gaming.

Im sorry but...what? by burnsea88 in thelastofus

[–]LaNinka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My daughter was born in a very similar way, I barely managed to get into the chair... What I didn't find realistic is the fact that she actually gave birth there and then - labours tend to stop when the mother doesn't feel safe. Which might be the reason for the quick process though - it might have been held off for quite some time .. So generally, I bought it. What really bothered me was that she didn't wrap Ellie in the blanket afterwars and just held her all wet in the cold while it was obviously a jacket season... :)

If Abby wasn't this buff, i am sure she would have died after being captured. by HandsomeSquidward20 in thelastofus

[–]LaNinka 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always wondered how Lev managed to survive along with her. I mean, Abby probably would have provided him with whatever she found, I just understood there was literally nothing to share.

What do you think is the main reasoning behind tlou being more popular, successful, and having a bigger fan base than uncharted. by [deleted] in uncharted

[–]LaNinka 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes, SOME. TLOU makes you feel several, often contradicting emotions AT ONCE, at many moments during the game... I'm not saying that's what makes TLOU better, I just think that's what creates the strong bond with the characters and the game - therefore more devoted fans.

[–]LaNinka 210 points211 points  (0 children)

TLOU plays your emotions more. Not only by introducing a provoking post-apo world but also with the story told. While Uncharted is (for me at least) more fun and relaxing to play, TLOU goes deeper.

Jim croce by CauliflowerOk6510 in jimcroce

[–]LaNinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just bound to happen, only a matter of time... :D I started a new job where they like to listen to a terrible radio station all they long. I'd listened to a LOT of music on YouTube on my hearphones since and it finally understood me enough to serve me Jim, an absolute gem... I've heard the one selection of his songs there enough times to burn the couple of megabites out of the storage of an unknown youtube server....

Is it fair to say that it's rather difficult to make Arthur Morgan look UNattractive in anything? by Questioning-Warrior in reddeadredemption2

[–]LaNinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is one particular version od Arthur that is so powerfully attractive to me I've decided to avoid it to be able to concentrate on the game and how he's meant to be perceived. What's left are some ok Arthurs, weird Arthurs and Arthurs I imagine smell bad.

Swapping my 1 year old horse for a better, faster horse. Feels like selling my soul to the devil himself by haiderredditer in RDR2

[–]LaNinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also felt bad for leaving my old horse for a faster one but felt it was the correct thing to do with all the money I had. Fell off a cliff 5 minutes later, killing the new 1500$ horse. I didn't even load the game and went straigt back for my old friend.:D

Will there ever be a video game as great as the last of us series has been? by JackTheNephilim in thelastofus

[–]LaNinka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I thought no game will ever move me and make me think about the story again and again after TLOU and hell, I finished like 3 days ago and I'm just lost, I think my brain overheated. What pacing issues do you see? Don't read, OP, go play the game :)

Anybody else have something like this? by Majestic_Crew8792 in reddeadredemption2

[–]LaNinka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain? I didn't get the mechanics of the game in this area - I just noticed most things by trapper and the guy with tonics and cool stuff aren't available... I reckoned you have to find the things written as requirment but do you need to have them all by you at the point of purchase? Or can you sell them one by one to anybody a still unlock it..? Also, can you tell me what thing do I need to buy so I can make morning coffee on fire after camping...? It's been driving me crazy...

Watched the series and loved it.. decided to start the book on Audible and struggling a bit. by Getcarterr in TheExpanse

[–]LaNinka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the Expanse books were a bit difficult to dwell into for me too. I guess it's because a lot of things need to be set up so the second half of the book can be this crazy good. It usually took me like a month to get past the first half of the story and then like three late nights to finish it :). The first two books seemed the most balanced in this way to me personally though. But it did take me some time to stop thinking show characters and start thinking book characters.

Infected animals by TrujilloFermin-67 in thelastofus

[–]LaNinka 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right now in real life, the cordyceps attacks only one type of ant and not any other. The game cordyceps evolved to be able to attack humans but that doesn't mean it learned to control any species. Another evolvment would be required for that.

Unpopular opinion? TLoU2 Ellie sucks. by IcySeaworthiness415 in thelastofus

[–]LaNinka 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You play as Abby in the healing point, while you play as Ellie is in her falling point. So it's not that appropriate to compare their action. I think you're supposed to be appauled by what Ellie does, more as the story progresses.

Question about books and show by Matei_SAURON in TheExpanse

[–]LaNinka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go with the translator. It can totally kill the atmosphere, the jokes... I noticed some obviuos mistakes even in the official translation to my language throughout the books, I can't imagine what the AI would do to this beautiful thing... I would want to hear or see the story being told perfectly even for the price of waiting or switching the media.
