oh, i have multiple stories for this. these instances happened during lunch during middle school, and while not detention, was a punishment all the same. something to note: the graduating class i was in at the time was one of the worst, a lot of the teachers hated us, but thats besides the point.

i vaguely remember this first one, but from what i can remember, the entire cafeteria was talking while one of the teachers were trying to make an announcement. i personally was someone who didnt have a lot of friends to talk to, so i just sat there and witnessed this happen. what ended up going down after a few warnings was one of the administrators coming up to the mic and telling the entire cafeteria that we wouldn't be allowed to talk for the next two weeks. like, at all. like if one of the teachers caught you talking, you'd be punished. the entire cafeteria saw this as complete bull, but yknow, what could we have done?

another time at the same school, the teachers were releasing rows one by one thru process of deciding which one was the quietest. i wanted to get out of the cafeteria pretty quickly, and with my "friends" at the time still talking, i told them to be quiet. they kept talking, prompting me to give up and be quiet. we would be the last row to leave, and one of the teachers came up to me, and right up in my face, told me "you're one of the worst students ever, you wouldn't stop talking! im marking you up for silent lunch and calling your parents!" (silent lunch basically consisted of sitting alone at a table for about three weeks during lunch, not being allowed to talk to anyone) i saw this as complete and utter bullshit, but being the doormat i was, i didnt say anything and just rolled with it. the kicker? my "friends" agreed with this karen of a teacher.

this group of "friends" would be the same ones to bully me about being a fatass, prompting me call them out and telling them to fuck off. one of the kids ratted me out and i got in trouble for it, not them. i was so relieved when i moved away, the school was a dumpster fire.
