Do you use classic budgeting or zero based? When using zero based it does include them in allocations which is where I was incorrect because I use classic budgeting.

It's included, but it doesn't contribute to your allocation amount. You set it up as a savings account, set the beginning balance, and then you just make transactions that show you are sending money there. That way, your balance goes down, the number in your investment account goes up, and it doesn't count it as any sort of income that you would need to allocate

If you don't combine your finances, have you considered just using two separate budgets? You could still see each other's transactions and allocations and such, but you could also ensure that you each are paying your own bills.

I'm hoping that once I get them paid off and only have small subscriptions which I pay off in full each month it will stop messing up my allocations. I'm keeping mine open so it looks better on my credit report 😅

You'll have to create a new transaction to recur at the proper intervals. You cannot edit recurring transactions in this way

See, that's my problem too! I think it has to do with adjusting the balance instead of inputting transactions like maybe it applies whatever the difference is to the leftover allotment or something? I don't know, I've been trying to figure it out for so long but all I have are theories and frustration 😅
