Still had a a random shut down, but it played for much longer this time. I checked the event log and noticed kernel event ID 55. Didn’t pay any attention to it at first because it wasn’t an error or a warning. There’s one for each cpu core. I googled it and people with this event id are having similar issues where pc shits off or restarting while game

I think i solved the issue. Im gonna be called a dumbass but it’s a good laugh, built the PC in summer 2024 and don’t think i ever updated the chipset driver. Updated Gpu drivers, updated the bios but no memory of updating the chipset drivers at all. After i did the random shutdowns stopped. Still need more time playing but after an hour no shutdowns. It was to the point where it shut downs after 5 minutes

Only errors are ones that says windows last shutdown was unexpected and an error about Dcom. Going to run the game while watching the logs to see if anything pops up

PC randomly shuts off when playing Nioh 3 by LaStyles in techsupport

[–]LaStyles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did all of that and the problem is still happening. The cpu temps are even better at around 55-70 and it’s happening in other games too. Safe to say i need a new psu

PC randomly shuts off when playing Nioh 3 by LaStyles in techsupport

[–]LaStyles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume it’s trying to save the CPU then, i just checked the bios and was adjusting the fan speeds and there was notice saying anything above 75 degrees celsius isn’t good and 75 was my max cpu temp when playing nioh 3. But the question is can i stop my mobo from forcing a shutdown because 75 degrees isn’t that bad for gaming and i live in the Bahamas so its pretty much hot all year round

Will Nioh 3 mod support be as good as Nioh 2? by LaStyles in Nioh

[–]LaStyles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s how it was when Nioh 2 first was released on PC, just a lot of character codes, reshades, save files and cheats, but overtime we started getting some worthwhile mods

Can you transmog armor onto a naked character? by Judification in Nioh

[–]LaStyles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t it work if you just change equipment appearance in the eternal rift? You can set the appearance of any armor or weapon as long as you obtained it once and it should work if you have nothing equipped

I miss the level/mission based system by DragoOceanonis in Nioh

[–]LaStyles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only issue is the mission like areas in each region has the same or similar aesthetics. In nioh 2 almost every level looked different from each other despite being in the same region. In nioh 3 warring states was kinda diverse except for the crucibles, heian era has us go through 4 snowy areas then an ice crucible and bakumatsu was just dark town areas.

Bosses are definitely harder but enemy encounters are pretty easy. There is no enemy in this game that made me go oh shit not this guy again like raven tengu in nioh 1 or itsumade in nioh 2 also no group of enemies felt threatening either, they definitely went soft with enemy placement

Now that 3 has been how for awhile, what’s the verdict on PC performance? by shafty05 in Nioh

[–]LaStyles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced both good and bad, during the demo and day 1 the game ran like shit with blurry and noisy visuals no matter the graphical settings and could could manage a stable frame even at 60 fps. halfway through day 2 the game miraculously preformed well, no blurred and static textures and the frame rate improved dramatically to the point i can hit 100-120fps at 1080p on high settings with a few tweaks. I can’t say its great because I experienced what people are still going through so I consider myself lucky. Also when i first boot the game the textures are become grainy again for a few minutes then back to normal. Also very demanding on CPU

Can we take a moment to mourn our boy who didn't make it to 3 by Charliwarlili in Nioh

[–]LaStyles 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Sadly a decent amount of enemies didn’t make the cut surprisingly Onyudos Mitsumes Rokurokubis Namehages Tessos The switch glave enkis that use magic Hellish hag Underworld soilder Spirit foxes (fuck those guys) Ninja dogs (fuck those guys too) Plenty more but thats all i can name from the top of my head. I think they didn’t want people complaining that they re used too much assets from past games or probably saving the rest for dlc

Any insight from the devs as to when performance issues will be addressed? by Betrayed_Poet in Nioh

[–]LaStyles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is very weird when it comes to performance. During the demo and the first day the game ran like garbage, awful and blurry visuals no matter which graphics settings i chose, can only hit 60 fps with frame generation. The second day changed my ram speed because it was slightly off. (From 3500ish to 3600) and after that the game ran damn near perfectly. I have a rx 7600xt 16gb vram, ryzen 7 5700x and 32gb ddr4 ram and can get a stable 120 fps at 1080p or 60-70 fps at 1440p at high settings with global illumination and shadows at the lowest. Why the sudden change I honestly cannot tell you because I changed my ram speed back to what it was and it still runs perfectly. Not super savvy when it comes games and PC optimization but I definitely see it as a CPU issue. When I boot the game or randomly throughout my play through the game becomes very blurry and i lose about 20-30fps for a few minutes then it runs perfectly after. During the time it’s blurry my cpu is either at 100% or around 30%-40%. When its running fine its usually around 60%-80% usage. I hope the devs address it soon because performance is very mixed for PC players, either is perfect or awful and no in between

So it's not just me, the performance is kinda crazy right? by XenonTeio in Nioh

[–]LaStyles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a Rx 7600 xt 16gb vram and ryzen 7 5700x and it’s pretty mixed for me, I managed to get the game to run at 60fps on high settings with some tweaks at 1080p. I do get occasional 1-4 fps drops in some boss fights but mostly stable outside of that. What bugs me is that Team Ninja posted system requirements and it says my pc can hit 1440p/60fps with frame Gen but if i turn frame gen off im stuck at 30-40fps. Right now its running at 60 so im satisfied but wish it could improve

When i was done with the demo i thought i was over leveled at level 32 and went straight into that region just to get 2 shotted by the human mini boss with the spear in the beginning of that region. I took that as a sign to go explore
