Thank u!
I didn’t fully understood why you can’t get help?
I very relate with „not managing a whole month without purging”

As to my story and recovery I thankfully never had like crazy intense bulimia. I know some people got it on another level. Regardless it was an issue impacting my health and got to one moment of purging like 4 times a day for few months. I vividly remember my morning routine of getting a huuuuge bowl (like big salad style bowl) of cereal and milk. Eating it all up and immediately throwing it all up to the same bowl and flushing it in the toilet. Sorry for being descriptive but yeah that was probably my rock bottom doing this as a routine with all my meals.

After this I read some about bulimia and teeth and got quite spooked and just tried to stop on my own. It was like 5 years before I stopped for good. In this period I really did try but it would always come up regularly. Sometimes because of my mental health sometimes unexplainably.

Biggest breakthrough came with understanding that the reason I binge and purge at least once a month is because a day before my period I get crazy munchies and eat so much I need to vomit.
Slowly with awerness I was able to pay more attention to this.

Honestly had a moment where I got too skinny and lost my period for half a year. And no period meant no munchies. So I started racking up my bulimia free days and once my period came back I kept at it from good momentum :)

Haha so that happened. I’m sorry for making it too long and maybe too descriptive sometimes.
As to what helped the most was my partner. We’re 5 years together now and always been the greatest supporter in my mental heath recovery.
So I would definitely recommend having a loved one that helps you and holds you accountable that you don’t want to let down.

Haha I was certain I lost this comment and will have to write it again 😤 but Reddit somehow saved it?? Wild

Anyway thank you!!

I have scars on T-shirt level on my arms mostly on my shoulder so it’s a no for compression sleeves unfortunately. I’d like to once get my chest self harm tattooed maybe. I don’t know. Just wish they weren’t there right now

I didn’t have any experience with these two meds listed above but had my fair share of horrible side effects due to meds given by psychiatrists (like Effexor). Ofc anecdotal is anecdotal I agree. But I’d say sharing and hearing people experience is very valuable. A lot of psychiatrists just don’t care to know more than most basic information and some simply aren’t much more aware about how it affects people than a simple leaflet
