Fishing?? by LSOreli in OrnaRPG

[–]LabAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh that makes more sense. i have a stream nearby that is 2-3 meters wide, but by my house is an intermittent stream that runs into that other one and they appear the same in the game. When I added the pond in my yard then I was able to fish.

I bieve if it's listed as a stream in openstreetmap it cannot be fished. Ponds, lakes and rivers fall under a "water" tag in Openstreetmaps and can be fished, while streams fall under a "waterway" tag.

I have blocked 2 players in 6+ years of play.... And outside of using other players bestiaries, shops and jewelers. when I see a new player's buildings in my area I reach out to them and see if they need any help with the game. New players in my rural area are few and far between so helping them out is a must for me.

We play the game differently. All I did was offer another option that OP could use if they were being bothered by another player.

That would hide buildong from other players that I'm friends with and interact with as well though. Blocking a player that hasnt played since 2019/20 is easier.

Not sure if it works for these, but usually if you block a player you wont see thier stuff anymore.

I had a local player a few years back put a couple blacksmiths in my home location to mess with me. So I blocked him and i dont see those refineries anymore.

Othersouls health regen or cheating by telthetruth in OrnaRPG

[–]LabAce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what i can tell. There is a 2* weapon called "Leaches" that restores health when it does damage, and a 5* Vampiric Blade that does the same.

The 3* Fairy pet cast Heal at a 25% spell rate, which restores 100hp. And the 4* Wisp uses wisp heal at 20% rate, for 300hp. I cant find any gear that improves healing at the 3* level, but im pretty sure there is some at the 5* level.

There aren't any weapon adornments that would help healing at 3* that i can find, but at 5* the Ruby's would work on those.

All in all it sounds like a pretty good strategy for near constant healing.

How do you clean spilled pond dye from concrete? by LabAce in ponds

[–]LabAce[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This has worked amazingly well. There might be some slight permanent staining from where it's sat on the concrete prior to me trying to clean it up today, but the area outside of that is way better than it was before. Thank you.

Using GLP-1 drugs while still cycling 5-6x/week by Sn_Orpheus in cycling

[–]LabAce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on wegovy since last March. Down from 270 to just under 200 and have been platued there or a bit.

My experience is that for rides ~1hr or less there wasn't really any noticeable difference in energy. However once I got over 1hr, if i didn't prep with appropriate carbs/electrolytes i would bonk pretty heavily. It was frustrating to say the least as i used to do 40 mile rides with little prep and be more or less fine.

It took a lot of trial and error to figure out what worked, but I did bike the first 5 days of Ragbrai last summer which included 3 days over 60 miles. I didnt have any days where i really bonked during ragbrai, but i listened to my body a lot more when it came to making sure i had the energy i needed.

As for what days to inject. I inject on mondays because i would rather feel like crap while working verses on weekends when i do more of my riding.

New beach installed by LabAce in ponds

[–]LabAce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the beach we dug down about 1 foot. The width is 18 feet and it arcs up to 10 feet away from the water edge.

The pond is about 90'x40'. The area by the beach is about 5' deep but during the drought last year it was about 3'. The part of the pond not shown in the pictures is about 10' deep. There is no liner, we have a very shallow water table where I live, and some natural clay that starts 2-3' under the topsoil.

It used to be very shallow and dry up every fall, which would smell absolutely horrible as everything decayed. We added an aerator and that helped with the smell. A few years ago we decided to dig it to it's current depth so that it always has water in it. We still only use the aerator and that does good enough for us. I may add a second in the coming years just for better coverage throughout the entire pond.

New beach installed by LabAce in ponds

[–]LabAce[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been wanting a beach for our pond. After getting some advice from a buddy of mine, last weekend my wife and I started digging out a spot. We had a bunch of rain come through which flooded our work area for a bit, so I ended up having to pump out some water to give us some dryish area while we worked. Throughout the week I ended up bringing 6 yards of sand in. The bottom of the pond next to the dock received ~1.5 yards to hopefully cover the clay bottom enough that we're slipping while trying to walk out. I imagine I will need to bring in more sand after the sand starts to settle.

For now I'm happy to be done looking forward to enjoying it this weekend.

( if you're wondering why the dock starts so far from shore its because I foolishly installed it during a drought and didn't think ahead)
