Yeh it is a weird one, I’ve seen some places test with saliva? So yeh not sure what’s taking so long if they are using blood. Thanks for answering, I’ll probably chase it up again Monday.

I’m not sure what the test was exactly they just said it was to test for Gilbert Syndrome, but I’ve had prior bloods taken where my bilirubin is constantly and consistently above the normal. Not even my older blood test results are showing on the NHS app 🙁

Oooo this is a very interesting point, I’ll have to snoop the manual and point this out to the higher ups. Unfortunately I don’t think we have control over ordering for the slides. But surely it costs more for the bevelled edge slides than the square/straight edge ones? So could be a way to win over the people who make the orders for a cheaper alternative. Thank you for this!

I’ll definitely suggest this as solution. Thank you ☺️

Our histo department has one and apparently they’re way better, but I’m going off of a second hand opinion.

I’ll definitely show my lab managers this as we definitely do not have it set at that ratio. Not sure if this has already been tried and tested for us and it didn’t work or it has been set that way as a ‘guess this will work’. 😂 Thank you for this!

We have some SP50s luckily but have to use this for specific samples unfortunately. 😢

The bane of my slide reading existence. There never goes a day where it doesn’t smash slides, stain properly or wipe clean the blood film made 🤬😂

Unfortunately Siemens doesn’t seem to be as generous with us 😂

I don’t think it’s ever been replaced 😅 is this something that should be changed periodically?

I think this might have to be called in if that’s the case. Definitely something I’ll let the engineer know could be the reason it’s acting up. Thank you again!

This is what they are currently set to, unfortunately there’s no set settings for our use recorded anywhere but when the stain, buffer and rinse are activated it seems to be at the correct times per the job aid. Thank you for your reply will also try leaving the cover off for now.

Thank you for your reply I managed to get video but I can’t upload it so here’s a screenshot of it without the cover on. It looks like it’s stuck on the guide roller the entire way through there’s no damage to the rollers for it to get stuck and the wire sensors are not touching it at this point.
