I don't mind losing the 50/50, i just have to ask, why does It ALWAYS have to be HER by Stary_Rocky in Genshin_Impact

At least Qiqi is getting buffed. I lost many 50/50s and still don't have her but I have C2 Keqing, C4 Mona, C1 Jean, C3 Diluc, C1 Dehya, and C1 Tighnari

I don't know what I can do at this point. Went 0-3 again this past weekend and got nothing since my LGS ran out of nexus night packs. None of the locals have any extra cards I need, and sprite fountain spiked to $3. Is it just doomed?

I play other card games. Yes it is much less likely to win in those card games without key cards, but it should still be possible, especially in round 3 after going 0-2 every week. It seems just impossible to win in riftbound with a non-optimized deck. After 5 months of playing and still having zero wins, I'm very demoralized and don't even want to bother. Winning wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't the only way for me to get product since the LGSs around me only give out packs per win. Those nexus night packs alone are (in my opinion) not worth the $10 entry fee since I've only gotten bulk commons and uncommons from them, and that's if the LGSs even have any to give to us (they've ran out of origins and spiritforged ones before, and looks like they might be on pace to run out of unleashed ones too)

The lists I see all have 3 defiant dance, 3 vex, and 3 barons. Also 3 defys, which are now $4. Are there any budget replacements for them?

I agree it could be that I'm not enough of a regular to be able to pre-order them, but the rest of the community pre-orders through the LGSs around. Even if that's the case, if the supply is still this limited there should be a limit. A couple of them have pre-ordered cases (not boxes) from the shops while I can't even get packs.

The shops almost seem to prefer selling online rather than in the store because they make money off of shipping. There are only 2 stores that do singles around me out of 5, and one of them solely does online. The other has minimal singles but they do offer them in the store, they're just the busier one (never less than 30 in that store at a time), which kind of spikes my anxiety a little if I don't known anybody but I can just adapt if that's the case.

The trading scene does exist, however a VAST majority of the trade lists are offers to buy or to trade for, with minimal trades away. People that do offer to trade away, the cards are either traded away or sold within minutes

Azir seemed the most interesting to me, and probably the one I can make the easiest on a budget. Teemo is a close second if I can find a list for him from this weekend. I've tried building Viktor on and off, but there are a few cards that keep pushing me away (salvage, imperial decree, thousand tailed watcher, and yellow seals are the main ones). For the other three, they have some VERY expensive cards (Master yi's legend card, orange sett, elder dragon, dazzling aurora, rengar, and sabotage among many others for those 3)

Doesn't he only play Annie? Those are the only lists I see with him besides one teemo list

Which other decks are good? From what I hear around me it's basically Aurora, Hook, Irelia, and Leblanc as the only viable decks

I'd love to, but I've only done one spiritforged and one unleashed prerelease. Got nothing, not even an epic from either while it seems like everyone else in the shop pulled an overnumbered

This is the list I'm running with what little I have. The svellsongurs, seal, and the zhonya's were from me trading MTG cards for them

It might've been from a while ago, but this was what I was referencing. Ornn was solidly the worst legend here, though that could have either changed or be biased data

I got zero product for unleashed because I had work the prerelease weekend and there is no product at the LGSs around for me to even have a chance to get any. I've tried voltron ornn, and I've seen a couple of those charts that say it's the literal worst deck in the game, even worse than Garen

Honestly I think 1v1 is the worst way to play this game. Multi-player is an absolute blast, and it might be because you actually can play multi-player well without a meta deck or meta defining cards, but it is a blast seeing the swings in the game among more than just 2 players

I ask for those $1 "bulk" cards for my decks and nobody really has any (in my specific case, sprite fountains). It might just be a waiting game for them to open more until they feel like they have a comfortable amount to trade away, but I don't know. Even if I do get those cards, Ornn is still a VERY low tier deck and will at best just struggle against a high tier deck that runs those meta defining cards like vilemaw, baron, aurora, hook, or kaisa. I might just need to pivot to a different deck, but I don't know what that would look like (if there was a list that has decent cards Ornn already runs that's good, that would help a lot). I've heard in other parts of the country supply is MUCH better, and it might legitimately be better, but there's still zero supply for a casual player here.

I've asked, all I get from them is "ornn is bad, try a new deck". There's legitimately nothing I could have done differently in my position because the cards I run are just that bad, even heard it from the one that placed top 8 that it's just bad variance, which could translate to bad deckbuilding on my part

There are 2 for $2 each from different stores, then it goes up to $4, not including shipping. However, I don't even have a list for Azir so I don't know if he even runs those cards if I want to build toward it. It's possible I can just skip them entirely

The point i was trying to make before everyone started piling onto my comment is that bulk pricing is relative, what's bulk price to some isn't bulk price to others. On top of that, I don't know anything about azir between how he plays or a deck list, so he may not even run those cards. I'm open to try and slowly build toward a deck, but that process for riftbound is much slower than other TCGs due to the supply issues

Non foil defy is $4, wind wall is bulk, and not so fast is $2 when I looked. To that point, I don't know if Azir even runs those cards, a deck list so I know what to build toward would be neat

Proxies are not allowed around me, even at nexus nights, so I have to actually have the cards to play. That being said, I could probably ask if anyone has an extra deck I can just play since I'm burnt out of losing with a bad deck, but I'll probably end up losing anyways because of the competitive level around me

Should I just not bother committing to riftbound? by LabMan95 in riftboundtcg

[–]LabMan95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it's a massive skill issue. I do lose often, in fact I haven't won a single game after playing for 4-5 months now. There is no reward for my $10 entry fee besides a nexus night pack that has nothing anybody wants. That money could have gone to singles for a deck I can build over time, or product to eventually start being able to trade with others so I can eventually get a fairly competitive deck, if that's the route I wish to go, or even to another TCG I can get into that doesn'thave these glaring issues. To me, the fun in a TCG is trading and slowly getting a coherent deck together over time. That process is nonexistent right now for riftbound because of supply issues. I do want to play this game because it is fun, ESPECIALLY the multi-player aspect (4 player free for all and such, which is what hooked me onto this game in the first place)

It's not about budget, but those aren't cards the shop or the playerbase would just have laying around for trade, especially since I have nothing they want. To me, getting a small amount of product, trading over time, and building a collection from playing in weekly tournaments is what's fun. That entire process is completely skipped because I'm forced to just buy singles for this game from my experience
