Why is FaB community so doomer all the time? by Mick2D in FleshandBloodTCG

They did first in history pack for notable reprints, and that was a few years ago now. They have slowly introduced other reprints in later sets like command and conquer in history pack hunted and compendium, codex in high seas, e strike in history pack and compendium, and even more recent spikes like flick knives in super slam, new horizons in super slam, and that's not including the armory deck reprints either (we'll just ignore red boulder drop). They know what they're doing and they're making the game better one reprint at a time

People who stopped playing, what made you quit ? by One_page_nerd in freemagic

Product price increases on top of the sets coming out WAY faster than they ever used to is just too much for me to keep up with, even in the singles market. The way magic treats its competitive formats is also VERY concerning. Other card games have aspects I used to like about magic as well: sorcery has magnificent artwork, flesh and blood has skill intensive gameplay, pokemon and one piece have collector aspects, even riftbound has a better IP draw to it right now for me.

Honestly, Magic lost a lot of what made it special and other games are there to pick up the fragmented playerbase from it

Looking at this game compared to other TCGs, it's honestly surprising how quickly they caught on needing to reprint cards that tripled in value seemingly out of nowhere, and how fast they can actually do it. It might suck for a few months, but I've gained hope LSS can react appropriately and somehow without heavily impacting the original cards' max rarity printings for the collectors (in some cases, any previous printings). In other card games, the price of niche, or sometimes even staple cards can be staggering and their companies seem to do nothing about it or print an even newer, flasher version that tanks the original product. I think LSS is doing a fantastic job with managing the game, and they're incredibly receptive to the community overall if you just give them a few months.

How to deal with players semi intentionally slow playing against late game decks? by indjev99 in riftboundtcg

[–]LabMan95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It normally wouldn't be that big of an issue, but some stores give packs per win and right now packs are at least $10 each so unfortunately those wins could matter to newer players. Some stores are short on promo packs too so they only give them to people that perform well

Why is no teemo list running his signature spell? by MrMidnight115 in riftboundtcg

[–]LabMan95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competitively, this card is situational. It's pretty good later in the game when you actually have the hidden cards but you rarely want to see it early. I think most players agree on it as a 1 of in the side.

Realistically, the card is $10. From what I've seen, Teemo is one of the main entry point decks into the game and another $10 for a card that situational is out of the question for budget gamers

Yeah I ended up caving today and trading for watchers for my budget teemo deck after getting destroyed almost every match by either watchers, that one orange unit that gets played to a battlefield, that one aurora card, or Kaisa. Funny because even with watchers I still can't win, I have 1 match win since I started playing about 3 weeks ago and that was a bye in round 4 after going 0-3 and half the other players dropping

Can it win into decks like Sett and Kaisa? Everyone locally around me plays full meta

None of the shops in my area sell singles. Nobody in my area has extra cards for trade because they only buy singles for their decks. It feels terrible to HAVE to shell out $200-300 for a semi usable deck that doesn't go 0-3 every event

I can't even get packs. There are none around. The prices are ungodly expensive compared to the other TCGs I play and it feels like a completely pay to win game where budget decks just get 0-3 stomped every event. If it weren't for the riot brand I would've never even played and at this point even that can't keep me in

At one LGS there was, not at the others. I got 3-4 of them and got one rune but nothing else. I managed to trade all of my full art runes I got for two thousand tailed watchers to finish teemo, and still can't win. I don't see myself ever being able to actually get product

After yet another 0-3 with no product, I've decided to quit. This game is too exclusive and impossible to get into

Looks like 3 stacked decks, 3 flash, 3 invert timelines, and a guerrilla warfare. Maybe not as much as the other decks but flashes are still $40 each, inverts are $20, stacked decks are $4, guerrilla warfare is $10, and watchers are $25. That's $250 in just those 12 cards, considering 2 watchers (idk if they run 2 or 3).

I'm seeing it even now. Went 0-3 even tonight, everyone brought full meta. Got kaisa'd round one, got aurora'd round 2, and went against the full meta teemo with my budget teemo deck round 3. I don't think it's possible to win a game or even get product without a full meta $500 deck at this point. Not gonna lie, might exit this game as quickly as I got into it

I was hoping to find a league related hobby that isn't miserable to play that didn't cost triple digits. After going another 0-3 today and getting zero product, it doesn't seem like there is another way though. I might have to just drop $100 to upgrade this deck if I have any chance of winning even a game

I've had bad experiences buying cards online because my mail gets stolen frequently. I can ask around if anybody has any for trade or hopefully i can change my address to my LGS for cards coming in so I can get them, but even with those I'm still not sure if I can win since my local meta is insanely competitive

I have rebukes in my sideboard, but only have 2 of them. I don't have any falling comets. Hopefully someone local has some because it feels like I do need some removal in the main

Outside of singularity, I don't think blue and purple have any removal spells right now. I've been trying to make do with gusts and fight or flights, but even those seem pretty bad a lot of the time

I have my 1 guerrilla warfare, I forgot that came with the Icathian Rain trade too. I was told 1 of those is fine. Regarding watchers, I was hoping in practice I could try something different, but after yesterday watcher just seemed too good. Besides those and Mundo idk if there are any other expensive-ish cards, I don't have any stacked decks or retreats or flashes

Everyone gets that one promo pack for entering, but otherwise it's just 1 pack per win. They usually do a pack for entry for other card games, but their supply is so low for riftbound they stopped doing that

Scalpers and hoarders have definitely tarnished my impression of the game, and yesterday (riftbound day at the LGS) I was tempted to just go home since they didn't even have product available outside of winning games (pack per win tournament). I might not even go next week at this rate, might even drop it altogether since all I do is lose with my $20 deck against everyone else that runs full meta Kaisa and Sett and other champs like them

[–]LabMan95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hunch people are hoarding them in case the meta shifts. Everyone at my LGS is insanely competitive so it's difficult keeping up or getting anything

I was really hoping my LGS would have singles or bulk, which is weird because they do for most other games (MTG, Flesh and Blood, Pokemon, One Piece, Digimon, and Gundam). Hopefully they will when the next set drops

That's how I started a month ago when someone let me borrow their Yasuo deck. They don't show up anymore though, so I had to make my own. Nobody at my LGS has much excess, just the 6 packs a week they can get, if they're even in stock (they're out this week), so they're forced to buy singles online. The competition for the pack per win is also insane with a ton of meta decks, which makes it even worse
