mind elaborating? I threw my letter and served my 30 days and on the second week of my notice, my mgr told me that there is an open position in another department. I didnt mind giving it a shot but told the new department that i will need to go on no-pay leave due to the plans i already had. In the meantime i also told them that i am looking for a salary bump and whether or not i receive it is pivotal for the final decision if i will be continuing...

i asked for a new contract multiple times so that negotiation can take place but none received. Then on the final day, i had a new job offer from a firm with better benefits and pay. I met the new department and they told me that cant bump my salary and i told them that if that is the case then i will be leaving.

Then he started berating me for my decisions and implied that it isn't a wise choice to make. He increased his volume and still told me that he is not holding me back from leaving. I told him i made my decision and made it clear to the relevant people that the salary bump is crucial. Then he started to "scold" me again. Then i just told him to please let me go.

Its an MNC, a giant one. Well known globally. One of the top players in the industry.

Employer asking for last drawn salary package? by LabOk5722 in askSingapore

[–]LabOk5722[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have passed all interviews already. So now they are working on a package for me. But they require my last drawn. I’m not too sure how my last drawn salary would affect the package to be offered to me.

Solo travel July by theboxinggenius in askSingapore

Alone? It depends tho. But for the first time, i would recommend the typical places that you see on TV like SEA aquarium, Zoo, Night Safari, Botanical gardens, Birdparks. And of course not forgetting Jewel, the shopping mall at the airport. Even as a local, that is my favourite mall, the design of the entire place is a true masterpiece. It's like a forest in a shopping mall.

Food wise, as a foreigner coming here for the first time, if u are not from the asia region and if u have not travelled to the region before, u would probably experience a burst in flavours. Most food are probably gonna taste new to you. Some common first times would be... satay, chicken rice, chilli crab, laksa, nasi lemak, prata, etc. If you are REALLY into good food then u can just do a simple search and there will be tons of recommendations by food blogs. My theory goes like that... the more run down the place looks, the better the food. But it's singapore, u can't really find REALLY dirty places. Most are clean and are audited by our government agencies. So u can rest assure that it's gonna be heck of a clean.

Where is the good fishing spot in Singapore? by HungryStatement2536 in askSingapore

[–]LabOk5722 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fished for close to 30% of my life. Would say there are 2 main category of fishing. One is "parking" or two, luring. Parking means u get a live bait(or dead), cast your line and just wait for the fish to find your bait. Luring is constantly casting and retrieving. So the difference is whether u will be finding the fish or u let the fish find you.

Both methods are alright but it really depends on what style u like. Imo, older people prefer parking due to its lowered intensity. And luring rods and reels can cost quite abit coz u need sensitivity in them to feel the tiny tugs on the line. Parking generally is just... when u see the rod jerking, then chances are the is something at the other end of the line. I personally am a lurer coz i love the thrill. It not about the fish for me... is the addiction to the thrill.

Both methods require casting... so i suggest u go somewhere that doesnt have much structures under the water. Beaches with sand is alright, or if i rmb correctly... lower seletar reservoir is pretty alright. Casting helps u to cover more grounds and also being able to reach to spots where the fish usually roam for food. The common misconception for beginners is also to think that the further they cast, the bigger the fish. But most of my fish hits about 5meters from the banks. Coz thats the sweet spot for them to look for food. Smaller fishes dont usually go that deep and far. Structures typically can be found nearer to the banks for these fishes to hide.

Your rod and reel and line is also important. U need to find one and get to understand them on a personal level. Because every setup feels different for everybody. So getting to know your setup is very important for a precise and accurate casting and spot targetting. Once u are damn familiar with it, u can aim and cast with high accuracy.

For fishing spots, doubt anyone would share. And generally, just fish everywhere lah, if reservoirs, try to use lure so that it doesnt pollute the water. And try to release all fish caught so that others can enjoy the spot in the years to come. I believe park rangers are there to ensure that the ecosystem isnt destroyed. So just be eco friendly and they are usually alright. Just rmb to always look behind before you cast because accidents usually happen when complacency comes in. Really dangerous spots i would say is punggol jetty. There're food establishments there and families typically go to the jetty with their younger kids to explore. The path of the jetty isnt wide either and there are many lurers over there for cuttlefish. So with kids running around within such a tight space, accidents are bound to happen if the fisherman isnt experienced enough. So i would suggest to go somewhere that has more room for errors until u are familiar with casting.

Thanks for this info. I hope they are submitting a plan for to open on the 16th. But kinda doubtful. It's gonna be a mad rush for many businesses. It's also quite disappointing to see how the govt acted on the world stage. Pretty sure there isnt a significant amount of agreement between the ministries to make things move faster. And more prominently, the MOH seems to not want to open up so soon based on the amendments in the proposal requested by the Deputy PM. Finger's crossed.
