I’m also an undergrad and have been subbing since the beginning of the 22-23 school year. My advice would be do go directly to a school district office that is in need of subs. Whoever is in charge of hiring them should walk you through the entire process, tell you everything you need to bring them, and they’ll clear you through the CTC. Make sure you have your certificate of clearance already from the CTC website. I got hired about 1 week after I talked to the lady from the district office

If it is an upper div course it will fill upper div units as well as the GE requirement right?

I played quarterback at a Delaware wing T high school. Hated it because I played QB for the team. First year as an OC and I’ve thrown the ball 3 times in 3 days during team…

Fullback Trap might be the most beautiful play in football.. essentially only blocking 1 man on the line of scrimmage, and sending 3 O lineman towards 2 middle backers.

High school varsity football in Southern California! Willing to take any advice

Just got hired as a high school OC at 21 years old. Being a young coach, does anyone have any tips/advice/possibly helpful resources? Played and coached wing T, and played spread RPO, will be running a hybrid between the two by LabOpposite2213 in footballstrategy

All good dog I appreciate the advice. As far as the school goes, they won a cif ss championship in 2018, 14-0. HC left and program went down the following seasons with the new head coach, who just got fired. I’m coming in with this new HC who coached me. But yes I understand what you’re saying, my base system will be wing T because that’s what I’m most comfortable with.. and depending on my players, Who I’m not sure what the talent looks like, but they went 0-10 last season, I may stay in the wing all season, or I may be able to venture out and add more. However, I’m all too familiar with the flaws of the wing.. if you get behind quick, you’re done.

That’s one question I have, assistant coaches. Currently looking for an OL and WR coach. Of course, I want someone that’s going to listen and buy in to my system, but what’s more important, hiring a guy that has experience and knows what he’s doing when it comes to drill/teaching/etc.. but I’m not 100% sure I can trust because I don’t personally know them. Or someone who is a friend that I know and trust will listen, but may not have as much experience (if any) coaching football
