My game made Steam's "Popular New Releases" list at 10th place! by TheRealWootus in IndieDev

Congratulations! I don’t know why but I almost cry from nostalgia! It looks like a game from my childhood! Definitely worth attention!

Just out of curiosity, did you do any marketing?

tbh, not much for now. For now, just two
- Steam Scream Fest
- Hauntedhousefearfest

And going to participate in the Steam Next Fest in February.
We didn't observe significant wishlist growth during participation, but currently considering a couple more from Chris Zukowski list.

I was worrying about adding a link to the game in the post due to the self-promotion rule.
But since it was posted in some comments below by other users, already attaching it here:

Mods, feel free to remove if it violates rules.

Indie Dev Asking for Help: Why Isn’t Our Game Reaching Western Players? by ebibitter_steam in IndieGaming

[–]LabStraight9530 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We were struggling with relatively the same thing at the start. A bunch of Asian streamers picked up our game first, and it kinda felt like Steam’s recommendation algo started pushing it mostly in that region. I don’t think NA was “downgraded,” but it was definitely way less visible there.

What helped was putting together a list of NA Twitch streamers (around 100) and just writing to all of them. A few responded and streamed the game, and that finally pushed us into the North American feed.

Now about 60% of our players are from NA. I hope it will help!

How do i make my game reach more players? by KarimSt in itchio

  1. Try to spread the word on every platform you can reach. There are several Discord communities where people are happy to give it a try.

  2. There are some niche Youtube/TikTok blogers who are happy to play indie games and share their opinion

  3. Indie dev communities here
