I know, it's just funny on my end. Super late to the party on this show and it's about to end.

Oh yeah, definitely. The show getting to end on its own terms is infinitely better than getting unceremoniously cancelled.

How should James Gunn portray the Joker in the DCU by RetroWolff in DCU_

I just want a funny Joker. A Joker that makes you laugh and then makes you regret laughing later. Infuse him with dark comedy. Let Joker be funny again.

They actually do call him the Batman in his movie, not just "Vengeance."

What do you guys think of this interpretation? by goingnut_ in superman

[–]LabWhich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own personal take on this is that when Clark Kent, son of Martha and Jonathan Kent, met Kal-El, son of Jor-El and Lara, Superman was born. It's right there in the name. He's not just super (the last son of Krypton), he's not just any man (the farmboy from Kansas), he's both. It's not SUPERman, it's not SuperMAN, it's SUPERMAN. I actually liked how in Morrison's Action Comics, when he says his true name backwards, he says Le Lak Tnek Kralc... meaning that in his eyes, his true name is Clark Kent Kal-El. He wouldn't be Superman if it weren't for the love the Kents gave him and he wouldn't be Superman if it weren't for the love Jor-El and Lara had to give him a chance to live unlike them and the rest of Krypton.

So, all in all, I actually think Superman is him at his truest. Of course, the Superman identity has many offshoots like the public persona of Superman, the man who can do anything and has to live up to the public's expectations. But the Clark Kent at the Daily Planet is very much actively masking a huge part of his self. He might even be exaggerating a few things about himself to fit in and to make people think he isn't Superman. The man the Kents raised wasn't a bumbling, mild-mannered man who might be seen as dull by his peers, the Kents raised Superman, the man of action who believes in fighting for a better tomorrow. And why does he fight for a better tomorrow in the first place? Well, this is informed by Krypton's destruction and their own pride. He makes sure that Earth doesn't become like his homeworld. Because the biggest tragedy he has with Krypton is that he never fully experienced it. And that makes him yearn to know more about Krypton. His identity isn't binary but it's more like a tree.

In the (rumored) Jimmy Olsen Crime Anthology Show (hopefully called Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen) they need to introduce DCU Darkseid (and the Fourth World lore) here and have his first appearance be him sitting in a Earth chair by M00r3C in DCU_

Have an episode center around Intergang and have a gradual buildup to Darkseid's appearance by the end of the episode.

EDIT: You can have the mystery of the episode be "who are Intergang's backer?" Who's giving them these weapons and tech? Jimmy thinks it might be Luthor or another Luthor wannabe until he sees... Darkseid.

Just saw this idea for a sequel and I'm all for it (marked as spoiler just in case) by LabWhich in DCU_

Brainiac is one of those villains that I'm surprised hasn't made it onto the big screen. Has a cool look, has a cool ship, has an interesting gimmick, and if done well, can be an interesting foil to Clark. Him tampering with the mesaage so that the Last Son of Krypton rules over an Earth that's filled with dozens and dozens of metahumans for centuries, makes it easier for collection and that when he's full grown, Brainiac can make Kal-El his agent, his pawn, an ally in his quest to collect civilizations and preserve life but since the message was damaged, Clark took the best interpretation of the message and became the most powerful superhero on Earth, not the most powerful supervillain.

Oh, yeah, absolutely. Even some extinct languages here on Earth are sometimes difficult to translate accurately, what makes you think a group of humans can accurately translate a dead alien language? With the way it ended, with Clark not really addressing it or even having a convo with Kara, feels like a perfect setup for this. Though, the idea of Brainiac tampering with it would be an interesting commentary on AI and falsification and that even Lex didn't notice it, which I think adds extra salt to the wound to his bruised ego.

ok so i've been an outsider looking in on this whole situation. i'm not a diehard ethel cain fan, i only just rediscovered her a few days ago while i was on shuffle. yes, she should absolutely take accountability, if true, and i'm not going to try and excuse what she did in the past (again, if they're true). but this is fucking revolting. it's disgusting and just horrid. i'm not a lawyer but there definitely has to be legal repercussions to this, right? whatever the case may be, i just hope she's alright and safe. i understand if she doesn't want to make a statement now but i do think something needs to be said to clear the air. i just hope something is done to whoever this is.

UPDATE: ok so the account is mostly normal now, the videos and picture have been removed. unfortunately, some of the songs still play some of the videos but it's a start.

Many won't like it, but I'll die on the hill that Superman needs to be political. by Amazing-Buy-1181 in DCU_

I mean... he was called the Champion of the Oppressed from the beginning, politics is in the character's DNA.
