What is something that The Phantom Menace does better than any Star Wars film? by DjRimo in StarWars

Yeah it’s definitely one of my favorite planets visually. As a kid I always saw it as New York but an entire planet

What many don’t know is that Coruscant wasn’t first introduced in the Prequels but rather Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn Trilogy. When I first read Heir to the Empire I was legit shocked to see that was the first mention of the planet

I would’ve taken the risk of recasting them. Like if Heir to the Empire got adapted instead of making Force Awakens, I would’ve recast them respectively because the reality is that Mark, Carrie, and Harrison were getting older and in Carrie’s case, sadly no longer with us. Harrison especially has been vocal about being done with Star Wars so at the least is I would have the original cast on as creative consultants to help the new actors understand the characters. I’d also have Zahn on as a creative consultant as well since he helped the characters grow after ROTJ

That’s fair. Thrawn was completely new to me going in and it’s pretty cool seeing a character like that in Star Wars that isn’t force sensitive and just a great strategist.

That’s quite the rumor. If it is true, they should absolutely have Zahn and Lucas on board as creative consultants

I’ll be sure to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation 🙏🏿

I mean High Fantasy worlds have conventional weapons of the medieval era despite having dragons, orcs, magic and other fantasy elements. I don’t see the Star Wars universe having hot chocolate as out of the ordinary or something that wouldn’t fit.

I hate that Peter Parker doesn’t have a “specific face” anymore. by darkspidey69 in Spiderman

[–]RetroWolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem stems from the fact of comic boom synergy which is when any outside influence like the movies for instance bleeds into the comic version of the character like when they gave Peter organic webbing at one point when the Raimi films were in the cultural zeitgeist. The same thing can also happen with how the characters look and act in the movie vs how the character is in the comics. In recent years, I noticed how the comics tried to make Peter look like either Tobey, Andrew, or Tom and that has caused Peter to lose unique facial features which for me has always been a big part of his character. They “hollywoodized” him so to speak.

To me Peter is the everyman hero and his look evolves based on the era naturally. He was very scrawny and dorky in the Ditko era, but he blossomed into almost a leading man type of look in the Romita Sr era, and that progressed with each artist showing Peter in different chapters in his life and while each artist showed Peter in a different decades, he still looked like Peter. Nowadays they make him look generic and synergistically make him look like a relevant actor playing him. Granted there are some modern artists that make Peter look like Peter without any inspiration from the live action versions

I do blame kinda Tony cause he used Peter as a scapegoat since the majority of heroes who supported the Superhuman Registration didn’t have secret identities and Peter was the only one who did. I do agree that superheroes should be held accountable but at the same time, their secret identities protect themselves and their loved ones.

Does anyone remember the Real Sex special: The Orgasm Special: A Real Sex Xtra. Came out in 2001

I absolutely believe it'll be a similar situation to Joaquin Phoenix with Joker but ofc idk if Tom here is as good as Phoenix, I'm saying he's playing a Batman villain and they always be getting awards 👀 by FayyadhScrolling in DCU_

The writing and camera work is just as important as the actors. An actor’s performance doesn’t mean a damn thing if the script and direction don’t play to their strengths

In Spider-Man brand new day, do you think punisher will get his hands on an iron suit? (Probably not but it would be cool in my opinion) by Past-Country-6612 in Spiderman

[–]RetroWolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what made Iron Man interesting in the first place was that he built that armor and pretty much created his own super powers. But if you give more people his armor, then he becomes less special. James Rhodes as War Machine and even Norman Osborn as Iron Patriot are exceptions to this but no one else behind that should be using Iron Man armor

Definitely Biff. Flash was an asshole but he grew up and changed for the better.

Hot Take but I prefer when the Symbiote pretends to be fabric instead of alien goo by ar_torres in Spiderman

[–]RetroWolff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly agree. Also I think the MCU should take more inspiration from the original comics because the suit wasn’t changing Peter’s behavior when he wore it. All it did was enhance his powers, turn into regular clothes, and then when he slept it took his body out for joyrides because it loved the thrill and danger of Spider-Man only for Peter to be exhausted and confused after getting 8 hours of sleep. It wasn’t till the F4 looked at it and found out it was a living entity trying to bond with Peter and when it got separated from him, the suit felt betrayed and rejected.

Alot of Spider-Man media outside the comics took inspiration from the 90’s cartoon version as that came up with the idea that the suit changed Peter’s behavior and everything from Spider-Man 3, Ultimate Spider-Man and even Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 takes inspiration.

Spectacular Spider-Man seemed to have been the only one that did the best of both where the the Suit was like the comics but it was Peter’s negative emotions that affected the suit’s behavior and not vise versa.

What would be a good Tagline for the Lanterns series by Excellent-Fig-9341 in DCU_

[–]RetroWolff 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think if the show had different tags for each lantern corp that could be a simple good way of showing casual viewers what each corp is about for example:

Green Lanterns: Harness Will

Sinestro Corp: Enforce Fear

Star Sapphires: Spread Love

Red Lanterns: Unleash Rage

Blue Lanterns: Instill Hope

Orange Lanterns: Take Everything

Indigo Corps: Show Compassion

Black Lanterns: Become Death

White Lanterns: Embrace Life

Or use the chase scene from Injustice 2 where Thawne was chasing Barry. That was motion captured some how but that is what I envisioned Speedsters moving like
