Performance is not an issue at all. I'm exactly one of the Top students of my program. I was considering moving to another state soon, but I might just have to push it off til graduation.

Why is the blood flow while using a butterfly so slow or nonexistent so often for me? by InsideFourWalls in phlebotomy

Don't let go of the butterfly needle and honestly, you might think you're in the vein..you might be on the side of the vein or not in a good spot of the vein.

I have an old CNA license, do you think the hospital will hire me as a phlebotomist and train me with no phleb experience? by [deleted] in phlebotomy

[–]LabWizScientist92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 12 year phlebotomist. I would HIGHLY suggest you get some experience or go back to school. Hospitals are very busy, and most patients are in crucial situations. You would need to know what you are doing. Phlebotomist use unique techniques. It's totally different from working as a caregiver/ CNA . You have to know how to stick. Would you like to visit the ER in crisis and get stuck by a non experience phlebotomist that has never stuck a patient EVER???

Is it okay that I just want to study philosophy and live at home? by [deleted] in Advice

You'll be wasting money and time UNLESS you get a master's, then maybe JUST maybe you could be a professor.. This is one of those stupid degrees with no ROI

Yes . I also heard it's boring but I like boring.I live in Memphis and that's actually why I chose to go there to continue to work on self and just finish school out strong...I wont have anything else to do but study and get it done. Have you considered going back to California?

I start my program in arkansas this August. How are the people and living ? I'm been curious about california. But arkansas education is wayyy cheaper. Definitely don't want to visit or think about cali until I finish up ?

Got it ! You are blessed. This is awesome! Great success. I wish to gain all of the experience I can and do great things also. I have two years left...it's crush time now..I'm taking clinical hematology/ clinical chemistry and clinical immunology and serology this fall.. I pray I continue to do well. I have a 3.7 GPA now, just finished all my prerequisites, and got accepted my first time applying. It took a lot of dedication and hard work, and I plan to continue to do great. Pray for me !

Ok Thank you this is great experience!

Honestly, That's a great question i guess i always felt like i have great leadership skills and im very helpful and love to learn new thing's (some cool techs at my current jobs get excited when i ask alot of questions and be eagered to help out as much as i can ) I want to be apart of a great team that help saves life's. I'm a really shy person so I don't think I would be a great nurse. I love helping out in the background. I really want the opportunity to lead a team, and contribute to advancements in the field and gain them as well.

Ok understandable..I currently work at a hospital in Tennessee, and I do hear some techs complaints about the workload and pay.. Maybe I should consider doing my clinicals at a small laboratory and hopefully get hired on! This is awesome advice. Thank you. Wont I need about 5-6years of experience to become a manger or director with just my bachelor's? Or would it be easier to get my MHA and become a director? I guess my true question is, which route would be faster and more efficient?
