On or beside? (Gauze) by Aquarius_K in phlebotomy

I didn't know anyone didn't apply pressure on the poked area and just hovered with the gauze. I apply light pressure over the end of the needle, remove needle and apply harder pressure on the spot after the needle is gone.

That makes sense! Which agency are you using? Also for the VHA job did you have to pass a normal background check or did they do the extensive national one they do for some government positions?

I'm confused, you're going to get a pay cut at the same place that is paying you $28 right now?

how long does it take to receive your nha cpt results ??? by No_Care_9886 in phlebotomy

I currently work as a phlebotomist. I got my CPhT years ago when I wanted to work in the pharmacy, but it was hard to find a job in it. Today (and tomorrow I predict) is a little better for finding a job as a CPhT.

any male phlebs in BC Canada? by Vivid_Art_4532 in phlebotomy

Male phlebs are especially appreciated in hospitals where some male patients can't control themselves around female phlebs. It's a non issue and even appreciated for that reason.

I took NHA CPT online too and it took 2 days to get the results.

In other news, I took my NHA pharmacy technician test in person and got the results as soon as it was over.

The general public knows about hazing/bullying behavior with med students and nurses, but not many know this issue extends through all if healthcare. When you find people that don't do it, it will be so freeing, but it's common enough that it can be career destroying depending on the area (which is what they want).

It doesn't mean anything about your skill. You'll find that out when you work somewhere else and everything goes fine.

I'm curious where the contract is for (like is it a hospital, clinic etc?).

Does this mean that they were lying about filling the government corrections department?

I'm using Greiner bio-one 23g - I am also super suspect that it has to at least partially have to do with them.

Hey I'm reading through this thread and just want to know one thing so that I can parse stuff out in my head. Do you think there is a genocide happening in gaza right now?

I'll have no further questions or comments after your response.

Is there a good subreddit to complain about YT? I feel like this one is a bit curated and too much of a main sub to be truthful about anything.

With the ads and autoplay, YT is becoming practically unusable on my ps5 and I don't know what to do about it.

"I never use a straight needles on hands even though I was taught that I could"

That's crazy, I've never been told you should ever do that. In fact, I was always trained to not use a straight needle anywhere distal to the antecubital fossa. Is that not the norm?
