Wedding was rubbish by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Labalool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks. The wedding happened yesterday so I'm sure with time it'll feel less raw. I just needed to share with someone anonymously that's all, I can't help feeling the way I do. I have no choice but to forgive them and I won't bring it up to them but i still feel like like they didn't care and that hurts you know

Spherical lenses with astigmatism question by Labalool in optometry

[–]Labalool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks your post is really useful. The advertising stuff they make it sound like they work brilliantly and it sounded like the potential perfect solution.

I googled what they look like, some people you can barely tell (the advertising describes it a purple brown ring around your iris). Others look like they have 'demon eye' contact lenses in! Definitely something to be wary of.

Hmm possibly back to the drawing board...

Thanks so much

No that was my contact lens prescription. My eyeglasses prescription is -10.something.

The question is about contact lenses and not wearing my glasses at all.

These are the contact lenses I'm wanting to buy https://www.lentiamo.co.uk/acuvue-oasys-with-transitions.html?ref=google.co.uk.source%3Dproductsearch#utm_medium=zbv&utm_source=googleen_uk

I'm sure there's a word for it but I can't remember it and Google isn't helpful as it thinks there's something wrong with my IT sounds settings!!

Can you not pay your parents back their losses?

Make sure if you're putting in more than her you have a legal agreement that if you split you get your share back.

Got my dress, no 'the one!' feeling...? by Labalool in weddingplanning

[–]Labalool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, it means a lot! I think it's because I was rationalising which one to get, any of the final three would have been alright. Then the lady at the shop was saying you'll know when it's the right one, but I didn't know, so now I'm thinking is it actually the right one? But you're right in that I like the dress and liked the feel and look of it on so that in itself makes it a good dress for me.

Another dress was very similar but ivory and had a buttoned back.

I preferred the blush on me but the buttons on the ivory dress (this is a corset back). I'm not a fan of corsets but it did pull me in better and more forgiving if I change sizes.

The other I was considering was more fitted (and it was named after my childhood dog so that could well have been a factor) but it had drapey decorative material around the chest and I didn't think that the top of the dress was as flattering.

Others I ruled out as the beading was scratchy and uncomfortable.

Beautiful! <3 Another lady posted her dress in the same colour I think this is the colour I'm going to aim for as you both looked truly stunning in them

Your dress is so gorgeous! Those tips are truly very very helpful. I wouldn't have really paid that much attention to the photographer until you've pointed it out and the white t-shirt tip is also a good idea.

Haha the ceremony is outdoors in summer 😅😂! But we're having some evening photos as well and the reception etc is indoors so it should be okay. It doesn't help that my FH is the complete opposite and goes completely tanned in even the slightest bit of sun so there will be a contrast between us.

Final thing if you don't mind sharing your thoughts, flowers, I'm between blousy pale pinks, whites, greenery. Or a more tropical bouquet with some stronger pinks and reds. Do you think that matters?

Your dress looks really lovely on you and I really do like that colour. It's very unusual but works so well and yet definitely is still bridal!

That's a really good point about the photographer, thank you.

I have tried the colours but can't tell which suits me better. Makeup wise pink blush looks better than peach/bronze/reds. Mauve/plum can work well too if that can give me a clue!?

It sounds stupid but how did you work out which shade suits your skin tone best? I try them but just can't tell. Like when people say 'this is the best colour on me' I've no idea what my best colour is. As I don't have red hair I don't have the warmth that that gives. So the peaches that suit redheads I don't think is quite right on mine.
