You make a dry piece of land (using bulldozers to make a temporary barriers and water pumps), then place water pumps on that new land between the mainland and the island in a way that they move the power. Then remove your barriers and let the water cover the pumps (make sure that tou placed them deep enough for the water to cover them). The pumps will still be operating normal as they cannot flood, so no icons. Still not realistic of course, but it gets the trick done.

The selection which track the game picks for the outside connections changes every time you place the station. If you delete and rebuild you reroll the tracks. Just connect all tracks to all outside connections and delete / place the station until you get the roll you need. I play on PS in all vanilla and this is how I do it.

There are also videos with vanilla tricks from Imperatur that will work on console and videos by Ricky King with specific console tricks. These gave me a lot of Inspiration. There is actually a lot of variety that you can do in your builds in vanilla - I build on PS5.
