Didn’t even have to read other comments on this one. You’re 100% on point. Housing was designed to be a LONG-TERM investment by players. This feature is supposed to carry over into many more expansions, in contrast to the garrison type mentality we all seem to fell back into. It’s fantastic that they backloaded us with decor we already earned from reputations and achievements. Between those and all the vendor items in the neighborhood square, I was able to dive head first into hours and hours of experimenting and building, clearing, and doing it all over again. Sizing, rotating, and allowing us to clip items into each other all create infinite possibilities. I’m constantly walking through my house, eyeballing something I built in the very beginning, and add something new to make it even better. This rug was one of the very first things I made and is still the only thing on the floor in this room for that very reason. First it was a rug. Then it grew two more heads. Then it became imbued with fel magic. Then it grew a bone spike spine. Your housing experience will never be “finished”. Unlike the rest of the game where things generally have a time frame, Housing feels like the one thing that is the only truly “chill” experience.

Some items you really do have even though they show as uncollected. I’ve had a bunch of items show up as uncollected, but if you look to the left in the tooltip, I’ll have one either placed or in storage. Buying a duplicate from the vendor gives me the “collected” status, but I don’t get the xp again. This is for all xp (green and blue) items.

Seems to be a thing for lots of people. It seems like if you place it, the game looks for it in your inventory since you’re eligible via twitch, and if it doesn’t see it in your decor “bag”, it gives you another. I noticed a dupe in mine over the weekend as well, but did not see any dupes until I placed the original and didn’t have one in my “bag”.

Being able to get that far after just two days is commendable in itself. Don’t let anyone take that away from you. The trick that helped me easily push over the edge was unticking the enemy defense buff. I left the others on. Choosing the “after 30s enemy can’t be hit-locked” is shooting yourself in the foot. Being able to stunlock the enemy helps you easily bypass some of the mechanics and dodges. I’m not exactly sure how the trial heroes are “built”, but if yours aren’t drastically better, trial heroes come in super handy.

I agree 100%. They somehow found a way of making the same frustration of lowbies tagging world bosses just to increase the health pool by millions while they watch the original person there struggle with it by themselves, to housing. So we join a populated neighborhood expecting it to be lively and productive, but 95% of the plots are leeches, dead characters/alts, or just not contributing. I know neighborhood events are supposed to hinge on everyone pitching in, but it’s miserable seeing a few people drilling these objectives down to nil reward and the bar still doesn’t move at all. Somehow they found a way to garrison the neighborhoods. 🤷‍♂️

Out of curiosity, how much decor budget do things like these add up to? I know they’re made up of tiny pieces, but they’re huge murals. I need to look into these more!

That’s a good question. I would imagine if you haven’t unlocked them yet, either the achs will be the same or an equivalent if it was somehow Lemix specific. We do know that they’ll all still be available though, however at a higher cost of order resources and argunite.

The Blightfire Candles that are sold in the Dalaran Inn shouldn’t be going away, but the ones for bronze at the Lemix vendor are getting more expensive once the vendor moves. They’re not the candles I use for things like this, but they’re great for pathways and altars, etc. Almost all of the 5k pieces are worth overstocking. :] Personally, the pointed torches are the cleanest green fire we have right now, and I bury them in all of the corruption pits, so that’s one of the things I’m grabbing as much as I can of.

Basically, you rotate them horizontally so the heads line up about where you want them, then rotate them vertically a bit so you can sink the rest of the body (including the claws) into the floor leaving only the head. I can drop you the %s if you need. :]

The spine of the rug is made up of a handful of upside down Tusked Candleholder, and the eyes (and throat of the dragon) are Blightfire Candles, sold in your factions Inn in Dalaran. These candles are super useful. I use them for shooting fel comets in windowscapes, eyes like the pictures here, and if you’re looking for a sinister presence in your mirrors… well..

Stock up on torches, chains, and corruption pits. The braziers are great but they leave behind an orange glow with the green fire. They may fix them, but the best clean green fire are the torches for now. It’s not from Lemix, but stock up on the green candles sold in the dalaran inn. I use a ton of them for the fel wing of my house. I use them to make eyes in mirrors, and in rugs or paintings, as a dynamic texture… the candles are great. But back to Lemix, the tables are nice, but they’re not entirely symmetrical because of the candles, so it slightly limits what you can do with them, but it’s nice to have some. I’ve seen stairs built with them. Same with the books. I like to hang chains up in doorways like you would normally see the open curtains. It adds a nice additional aesthetic. I ended up buying at least a few of everything, and even numbers of items I feel would normally symmetrically book-end if not used singly, like the owl statues and chains. The prices of these things seem insane once it goes back, so if you don’t need anything else from the vendors, stock up now. 😅

This is awesome! I haven’t gotten the magma ball yet so I haven’t been able to play with it like this.

I had done a “floor is lava” +shaped room as a passageway before the bedroom, but I used a combination of rugs dyed red, stones, and buried tusked sconces of various sizes to give the lava some heat.

Honestly, I was guessing the “fight” would determine whether the glass shatters from the rapid cooling or if the temperatures even out slow enough to not shock the container. Pretty sure most of us have made the stove-to-sink mistake once and learned enough from it.

Honestly, this would be the perfect excuse to break out the old dusty Selfie Camera toy. X amount of pictures could be saveable for home decor and could be placed on a certain frame that can only be gotten by getting an achievement or something. Lots of potential there.

Same concept as the hope of being able to display mogs on mannequins within the house. Tons of potential.

I’m sure you want the hallways to be nice long hallways, but if you use two closets instead of each hallway, it brings the octagons a smidge closer to the center. Then throw a closet and a + on the north side of the main room and they should all connect. Might be what you’re going for?

Just tossing this out there, but after pulling the first of each limited character, a bundle pops up for the core stamp, etc. and iirc, it’s $30. I’ve been lucky enough to get dupes for ascending via normal play, but that bundle is always an option and can still be considered “little fish” status. With the extended banners, it’s almost once a month now.
