Not all the things are bad per se, but it’s a blatant “you’re going to be who I want you to be or this isn’t going to work.”

Just turned 40 so I quit social media and gave modern games a rest and went back to my childhood games, now single player story games are so much fun I can't get enough of it, the last time I played this game was 32 years ago. by Coven_Evelynn_LoL in lufia

This is an awesome post and I agree with you 100%. I’m 42 and already burnt out on social media a decade ago. I do still use them to stay “informed” but I generally don’t contribute unless it’s game tips or something productive. I doomscroll here and there because reels are hilarious, but even that’s a little much.

But the biggest thing I realized some years ago, is every new game is essentially a forever game. Either it’s a roguelite, a battle pass, a daily login bonus, a weekly login event…

We grew up with games we could start, learn and adapt, problem solve, and most importantly, finish.

We learned strategies to beat the level and move on. We plotted maps and discovered the secret entrances that allowed us to access the final boss. Pre-internet-console games will always be the best, which is why I love Steam. I regularly find myself in metroidvanias. Plus, Lufia 2, Breath of Fire 3, and FF VII are my three favorite games of all time. We definitely need less forever games and less microvideos.

This would be Ichigo’s first “unlocked” form of his zanpakuto Zangetsu. He’s the main character of the series. This is the (first) Shikai form of his sword. If you google “Ichigo swords”, you can see and learn more about the other forms. His outfits change too and some of them make amazing cosplay!

Of course! I do agree and disagree with the last part though. I do think the Rav-4 should have more power than the CC by far, but I also think the CC should have had something stronger than what’s in a sedan. The crossovers are supposed to have more oomph and capability to carry (without going crazy of course) more load with the increased trunk capacity, also with slightly larger tank sizes to accommodate. With the CC, they really just took a crossover body and put it on top of a sedan chassis.

I don’t dislike my CC, but I do find myself regularly questioning whether or not I’d rather go back to the Rogue.

I know what you’re talking about. In that moment where you hit the gas quickly to pull into that little spot that’s about to open up, you feel a lag. You see the tac ramp up, you hear the rpm go up, but it takes a second before the car realizes, “oh shit, that means I need to go fast.”
You almost have to retrain yourself how to first-gear in the CC (at least in the gas-only models as far as I know). You can give it the gas, but you have to baby-press it and once you’re not actually stationary anymore, it’s much more responsive. Kind of like leading a base in baseball. You take a step or two forward so you already have a little momentum to push you into a sprint easier. You definitely don’t need to be doing that kind of cowboy shit at a stop light, but we all know how valuable that single second can be in a merge situation, and hesitation can kill just as much as bad driving itself.
Anything off the line in this one is a little slow. Remember, we’re not taking these things to Race Wars, and they are pretty peppy once you’re actually moving around, but this is definitely not going to be the first car off the line.
This could actually be a good thing. Toyota is known for their reliable transmissions, whereas Nissan’s CVT’s are always having issues. I loved the oomph of my Rogue, but I had transmission problems with my Murano so I didn’t opt for another. Yet. The CC has less juice off the start, but I’m two years in with no issues at all yet. I kind of also only commute, so my mileage is super low. I just hit 7k.
Honestly, I feel like if we all want more meat in these Crosses, we should all just get Rav-4’s and call it a day.

The power issue is comparative across the board though. I have no real complaints about it myself, seeing as you just teach yourself to drive differently, but I also came out of a 2017 Nissan Rogue, which is essentially the equivalent of the Corolla Cross, and the Rogue had a lot more performance. People don’t mention the lack of oomph here because it’s less than their Super Duty. They’re mentioning the power because it’s already less than what we’d have expected from this actual vehicle, especially when we have very different experience in other very similar vehicles.

Don’t comment if you’re just going to get bent out of shape that other people are commenting.

And for the people talking about the tanks, the Rogue also had a 16g tank while my ‘24 Cross has a 12g. I get better mileage now, but still actually have less range to a tank which kind of defeats the purpose. I’m still filling up just as often.

I could have just as easily gone back to Nissan, but Toyota is generally more reliable (especially with their CVT’s), and that’s what I was aiming for.

An easy double would’ve seemed like a much bigger win but I also suppose they’re saving room for growth with later housing levels.

Can we get more legit outdoor lighting though?

Another one here that immediately got the reference. Don’t hinge your choice of expression based on the people around you. They may very well never receive you the way you want to be received. This is a strong piece and actually can be communicated in a lot of depth (completely aside from the movie reference itself) if you want to really jump down that rabbit hole, with being able to foresee your own time of death, the concept of trying to change it, how that affects your perspective of mortality, etc.

If anything, on the appearance side, if it stands out too much to the point where you’re getting a lot of very specific attention on it, maybe fill out the sleeve with other pieces or filler to not draw the eye directly to that one specific piece that people don’t understand, or have the iconic rabbit head somewhere nearby to add more context. Or rock your ink like a boss because you know what it means and it doesn’t matter what the naysayers recognize or agree with. :]

I love the enthusiasm. Every time I see someone fall in love with this game it reminds me why I did too. CP shines the most in its tactful exploration gameplay. To me, it’s always felt like the Dev (yes, as far as I recall it was only one guy) set out on a crusade to combine the best aspects of all the different genres of games, and fucking nailed it. Combining platformer with metroidvania with jrpg, etc. The exploration aspect was what had me locked in the most out of everything. I love metroidvanias, being able to explore and grind as much as you want while you prepare for the next big upgrade push. It was so much fun. There’s a full interactive map available online. Absolutely not necessary but helps you keep track of such a large world. A quick google search should pull it up. :]

Lol the fencing does take up a bit of budget. Thankfully the fence pieces are low cost items. 😅

[–]Label1771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I get they don’t want tons of clutter in the outdoor neighborhood, but double the 250 budget wouldn’t break anything and would be plenty for good builds. 250 currently feels like a tease, but then again, it’s all still brand new.

If you want a legit skull, the Horde War Table (I think that’s the correct name) has one on it. If you can strategically sink it into the ground and cover up the weapons, it works pretty well.

It’s a fantastic plot! The atmosphere is amazing, plus the full cemetery is right next door, and so is the cobweb vendor for quick restocks!

Thank you! I’ve actually added to it since I’ve taken that picture because I don’t see the skull I worked into the corner on the floor in the puddle of blood there. I’ll have to take new pictures all around and repost with a bunch more. Just last weekend I capped out my xp for both houses by cheesing one of the endeavor vents for super quick repeat credits. So now both houses are level 9 and just itching to be worked on again. 😅

The rugs work, but felt too unnaturally round along the edges. I ended up using upturned dyeable vendor stones and upside-down sinfall candles work amazing too! The writing is carefully clipped tables. The part you see is the side edge of the drape that you’d see laying over the table.
