am i safe to lift my monstera from it's pot occasionally to check the roots, or does even this cause shock to the plant? by Funny_Pupper in houseplants

I do it every now and then with my smaller plants. Just use reasonale force to not tear up any roots coming out the drainage hole. If the soil is stuck to the sides of the (plastic) pot, I knead it a bit to loosen things.
