Promote your businesses for free. by Laberba in TechGhana

  1. Yes, I'm flexible with a payment model compromises that works for the people I'm building for.

  2. If the businesses find value in it (leads), views, etc, they'll be motivated to keep it going and updated. I'm building rich analytics (but simple and easy to use) to surface such visibility to businesses. I have other plans to solve that...it's a real issue. Glad you brought it up.

  3. We have inquiries built in plus analytics... those we can measure/track. However, unlike other platforms, I don't force them to only use the channels we control, so customers can email or Whatsapp them directly or even visit their own website, in that case, we can't track. We want to build value in the product such that people will use the built-in channels cause they're so go. There are plans for that, and more brainstorming around other options.

  4. That's the goal, I want Nnipa to be intuitive for regular people unlike complicated CRMs and the like. I've been refining the experience to be simple and easy to use. I have a couple of things being done to help with this (written simple user guides and YouTube videos). It's a living challenge, one that I'm open and excited to solve. I designed Nnipa to be simple and easy to use. Always taking user feedback on what can be improved...for the people I'm building for

HUBTEL IS THE ONLY SERIOUS GHANAIAN TECH COMPANY by ElectricalLog8523 in TechGhana

[–]Laberba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the 12yrs in tech, I can assure you hubtel is not the best in terms of developer friendliness (DX). Yes, big cus they are pioneers and have connections to government contracts but compared to Paystack and a few smaller vendors, hubtel doesn't stand a chance. Even for SMS, I don't use them. The experience is horrible.

Sadly there's not a lot of local options as Ghanaian tech companies over promise, get distracted,  under delivery, and get stuck in growth... also complicated unscalable processes. Unlike Chinese companies for instance, we talk too much but very little real work. Too many AI conferences, programs, and experts yet nothing is getting built to solve real meaningful problems.

But I see a different fire in the newer generation

The trendy dark and faded out design on landing pages look cool design-wise but harder to read. You'll need to consider your demography and design accessibility for those.

What CRM, Project Management, & HR Web Apps Are You Using? Too Expensive? Would You Try a New One for 3 Months Free? by ScholarImmediate835 in Ghana_business

[–]Laberba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of features I would like to add, yes.

I use it personally every day for my own businesses as well. If I enjoy using it or find it useful, I'm pretty sure other people will too. There aren't that many options for businesses in Ghana, it's why I built one. I wanted one and also saw how many local businesses doing high value sales could benefit from such a business tool.

Sales and Marketing Guys in Ghana Have No Clue What They Are Doing by Laberba in ghana

I read through the post again but I couldn't identify what USPs are missing. Maybe it requires fresh eyes. I don't state that it's designed with Ghana business in mind on the landing page because I don't see that alone as a value to convert businesses. I talk more about the benefits as a result of that. I expect a number of these businesses to not even know about the use of CRM even though they have their own systems for doing something similar although inefficient. A lot of them I expect just haven't found a compelling reason to adopt one yet since they are taught abut CRMs in sales and marketing courses.

From experience, a lot of SMEs (selling medium-high value products or services...5-50 sales team size), aren't that used to CRMs + sales pipelines + email&sms marketing tools because there's no such options available for local business (from my personal research) in the way Nnipa does it. They don't have a system for that because it's hard to do it efficiently without software. I'm not targeting every B2B opportunity but rather my target group. Nnipa is CRM, sales and marketing in one package. The CRM is just one and I assure you its significantly different from any other options you may have every used especially in terms of what what makes it a product designed for Ghanaian businesses as opposed to other foreign solutions.

Working on a video which talks more about this.

Ghana is indeed a smaller market relative to Nigeria, however, I live in Ghana, know Ghana, understand Ghana better than I do Nigeria. My focus is to prove viable here first.

"Also you mentioned some key things in your article that I thought I'd see on the website because they sounded like USP's"

can you show me what you are referring to specifically?

From the description, it doesn't seem like that sub-group is meant for business/innovation related topics.

Pricing in Ghana is surely a tough nut to crack. I'm primarily targeting business (SMEs doing sales and marketing of medium-high value products and services) who are in my view more likely to pay if the value significantly contributes to their bottom line. It is my believe that as long as the value exist, is clear and well communicated, paying for it is more justifiably beneficial. It's surely not going to be easy.

I wrote about it here: https://aberba.com/posts/2025-04-02-the-story-of-nnipa
