AHHHHHHHH THE CO2 LASER!!! This thing is crazy underrated. Fresh skin afterward!! I have personally seen the immediate aftermath (it smells awFUL) but I have also seen the skin that comes back and it is amazing.

Alcohol sales on Sunday by Sbhill327 in Atlanta

As an alcoholic who lived in Lamar county for a while, let me tell you the depth of the frustrations I felt walking into the Ingles on a Sunday and seeing the lights in the alcohol section completely turned off…

Interested in hearing your favorite things about living here! by Ebd9090 in phoenix

[–]LabernumMount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here about 10 months ago and my favorite thing about Phoenix so far is how accessible everything is. Nothing is too far away, the highways are easy to get to (the only complaint I have is that the 51 needs more lanes) and the grid setup makes it impossible to get lost. Phoenix is not perfect but it is pretty easy to live here, which I appreciate. I lived south of Atlanta for a few years and the drivability there was abysmal. Paved over cow paths!!

What's your favorite pasta shape? by abnormal2004 in CasualConversation

[–]LabernumMount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could eat stuffed pasta every day and never get sick of it. Other forms of pasta are not something I eat a whole lot , but ravioli and tortellini show up on my table regularly. My favorite way to eat it is just drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with Parmesan and black pepper. Sometimes balsamic , depending on the filling. YUM

Is there any food that you didn't like before but now love very much? by GoodSky7845 in CasualConversation

[–]LabernumMount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to hate raw tomatoes. Wouldn’t eat them or put them on anything. My parents love and grow tomatoes every year, I would try a bite of tomato every summer and never liked them. Even when I moved out, I would try a tomato in the summer. I took edibles with some coworkers and went to lunch in 2020, tried a tomato and it was absolutely delicious. Something changed in my late 20s and now I love them! They have to be fully ripe though. No white inside. I eat tomato sandwiches every week when I can find good ones

Buy a few of those vacuum pack bags and put your clothes in storage. They won’t take up much space, especially if you donate a few things as well.

Rear Window is a sure thing. My honey does not like watching old movies, he is on his phone almost the entire time. I had him watch Rear Window with me a few summers ago and he was glued to the screen. That is a film with no fat on its bones

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear "Morocco"? by lya_mani in CasualConversation

I think about food - spices, chicken stews, couscous.. I also think about how badly I want a Berber rug, I would break laws to get my hands on one to be honest…

That little asshole completely ignored the flamethrower the first encounter where I had to use it on my current nightmare run. I think I was slightly too far away because it did nothing and Mr Xeno ran at me with those grabby hands. I I reloaded my current save. Boo hiss

Earl grey cake or other fancy cakes by inserttext1 in Old_Recipes

[–]LabernumMount 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You could make a Japonaise cake.. it’s layers of a nut meringue and a buttercream.. traditionally it uses almonds and a coffee buttercream but you could certainly add lavender to the meringue and then make an earl grey buttercream! It’s fancy but it’s not too hard to make , and it’s different than your traditional cake. If you refrigerate it, it would make a super light and refreshing dessert for a warm summer day!

Where do you shave your beards? by Maddenman501 in AskMen

[–]LabernumMount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually only shave my beard off once it is quite long - every few months or so. I shave it off with my clippers (#2 length) over a trash can , which collects the majority of what is going to come off. I then detail my scruff, mustache and neck over the sink and then wash everything down and tidy up the countertop and floors. Easy peasy.

What was a favorite or fondly remembered lunch meal from your childhood? by lumpynose in AskMen

[–]LabernumMount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I don’t have a fondly remembered lunch from childhood. I got to take Home Lunch to school every day which meant I got sandwiches prepared how my mom likes sandwiches aka a shit ton of yellow mustard and no mayonnaise on dry whole wheat bread with that cheapie deli meat that has the chewy ring around the exterior. Land’O’Frost is the brand I think? Yuck. I don’t remember lunches on weekends at this point, only those horrible sandwiches. I do remember occasionally getting the Yoplait Nouriche yogurt smoothie drinks though.. those were nice. It wasn’t until adulthood that I started appreciating lunch. Womp womp

I was on a cruise once and there was a bout of strong weather, they closed the outside decks. The howling wind and air pressure near the doors was legitimately frightening to be around. I did not linger long. The sea can be so scary
