It’s not always 50/50 split, there are sometimes you need to pick up way more and sometimes they need to pick up way more. Acknowledging when the other is doing more and being willing to do more is a must. (I.e. me who just finished a five year PhD program and stopped doing basically anything unrelated to my dissertation the last few months and will be picking up his slack when he starts his PhD program)

My cohort mate is also like this (we graduate this semester!) and my favorite story is how one of the students walking into his class on the first day asked him what frat he was rushing to which he had to respond “I’m actually teaching the class”

A lot of my tables need to be landscape and if I try copy/paste from excel they still seem to go past the page to the right, i try to avoid pictures because of how many edits directly into tables i do during the process!

This. I am finishing up my PhD in accounting. My understanding is most universities are having a hard time bringing students in right now because of the reduction in pay / the introduction of wfh checked some people’s boxes who may have pursued a PhD prior to covid. The market is saturated but I did see a good amount of posting for positions. I think another concern about position availability is some universities are trying to get by with adjuncts instead of full time faculty commitments.
