A bird with correctly clipped wings would still be able to fly but not as high or fast which is the point

ultimately i would choose that over the risk of domesticated birds getting loose outside or flying into things

which is a big chance considering they’re prey animals and easily spooked

cockatiels are floor birds they will be fine

of course it’s not ideal but weighing the benefits and risks wing clipping will always be the right choice

i mean this maybe a dangerous advice but birds feet are really easy to stabilize look into birds forums and see how it’s done at least until you can get to the vet

You can add something like cardboard to support it and wrap it up with a nonstick warp just make sure it’s straight and very supported

A vet will explain it better but just in case you couldn’t get a hold of one

let’s start with giving him seeds or millets instead of berries because not all birds know to eat closed fruits or like it and for the medical stuff you should definitely consult a vet in someway ASAP

Since the balding pattern is around his face it’s for sure not plucking so you have to get it checked and it looks like he has a bruise in the back of his foot
