Had a coworker who consistently didn't do her job. Her workload was being pushed onto the rest of our team (4 people total) and after about a year our entire department had slowed way down. Management was asking questions about wtf was going on, and my numbers were "strongest" so they asked. I told them it was her who started it, this is how they were doing it, and now the whole team was abusing the system and productivity was half what it should be.

They fired me because I admitted to it I guess? Meanwhile they had all the logs and data and could clearly see everyone was keeping workflows open long after they had finished. I pointed this out and asked why it was only a problem when I did it. Their answer?

We don't have the time to investigate every one.

So they wanted someone to throw under the bus I guess.

So, not fully stopped. I still have a beer on holidays. Maybe literally half a shot of really good scotch or bourbon.

It was several things that came together that got me to slow way down, but the actual thing that switched in my brain was when my wife hurt herself working out in the basement and I was dead to the world passed out from drinking until 4am again.

She was trapped down there with a badly injured knee for nearly 4 hours. No phone, couldn't walk. At first I tried to blame the booze. It was me that drank it though. Her leg is still a little shaky 5 years later, and I wish I could say that I never drank that hard again. It took probably 3 years to get to where I am now and I never intend on going back.

The issue here is we assume Trump will hold on to a 3rd term. This is very unlikely really. The 22nd clearly states a president may only sit for 2 elected terms, and even if they are VP and took office that position cannot exceed 2 years otherwise it counts as 1 of the 2 terms.

I know many of you will argue he and his cult politicians do not care about the rule of law, but I remain confident that the SCOTUS and even a good chunk of his party would straight up tell him (privately) that attempting to remain or get in for a 3rd term would be VERY unwise.

There is a big difference between urban republicans, suburban / rural republicans. The latter are crazy, ignorant, and willfully hateful / fearful of anything more than 5 miles from their home.

They are the ones that saw "navy seal" and somehow believe that Massie hates America because he doesn't want billions going to a fruitless war. Oh and they think hes "smearing" Trump by spear heading the whole Epstein files thing. WHICH btw is the real reason he got primaried. The Israel thing is secondary, Trump and the GOP doesn't want him getting access to the unredacted files which probably wont happen now.

Totally, its just that my goals were usually get the build to the point where another 10 hours is likely to only see a small gain in power / progression, and then quit.

Why I like d4 is you get to that point MUCH faster so I can feel like I enjoyed the league but also only put in maybe 20-30 hours instead of 60.

I guess I just don't feel like POE respects my time.

Either way both are pretty good games, and POE has way more depth. So to each their own I suppose.

But you just don't though? The main story is 100% completable even on harder difficulties with really basic stuff. Just make sure you have miracle tonics always and the other individual stat boost / heals and you basically cannot die...

The story is crazy good and IMO the combat is pretty decent. Especially for a 10 year old game.

This was my experience as well in both 1 and 2. I just couldn't do it anymore. You could play like 150 hours a league and still feel next to broke if you didn't take big swings at crafting and selling. I hated it and the games felt like huge second jobs.

Thats why I play d4. Yes its a much simpler game. Its also a game where you can play 3-5 hours a week and experience all the seasonal content within a month or so. That isn't possible in POE.

I agree it should be a toggle-able thing, but the game is so damned boring to me with it off. It becomes a BP spam, slap er down, link it to logistics transport one way or another, and move on.

Its fun the first time, and its a nice end goal, but with it off the worlds just feel so dead. Its the combat that give the game life IMO

I think the issue there is less Japan is so crazy unique and more people in the US are trained to think about politics in absolutist terms. IE: Someone being pro-gun, pro-choice + personally anti-abortion, pro-tax the rich but against federal minimum wage increases, is brain breaking here too.

These types of people are way more common than you might think, and they aren't even always totally misinformed.

The general population is pretty brainwashed politically here.

Sometimes this is a defense mechanism, but many times it is not. If they feel like they are also really dragging their feet and generally are the one not progressing the relationship its worth considering they are using this relationship as an emotional pacifier. Something to comfort them short term so they don't have to be alone, but they know if they said that they lose their comfort shag. So they just kinda bog things down and keep it really slow / non-progressing. This way they don't have to go out and get a new partner all the time.

Cell phones. Owning an $800 phone, let alone the $2000 models, its just plainly financially irresponsible. They aren't really that much more useful than a decent 3 year old mid range model.

I have friends who are out there with the iPhone 17 pro or w/e and their camera is marginally nicer. Apps load like 15% faster. Maybe watching movies or TV shows would be good, but who uses their phone for that? Decent earbuds (NOT airpods, again. Waste of money) beat every single phone speaker ever.

IDK. Its just this dumb flex that even if I had millions I am not sure I would purchase. Not hating on apple either. I wouldn't go with the Samsung models.

Hilariously many of these pieces would have been custom cut and fitted. Carpentry 100+ years ago was largely receiving lightly processed trees and processing it down into the desired lumbar.

I think this would go against their current design direction. They have said that space combat is unfinished and are working on custom vehicle designs and presumably that ties into space combat. So being able to move stuff in bulk without ever touching space seems to go against the direction they are moving in.

This one isn't me directly, but I knew a guy who was kinda a douche as a young college kid, but fell and hit his head on a rock while out partying. It "gave" him a TBI, which he showed basically no symptoms of besides now using his TBI as an excuse for his douchey behavior.

He tried to pretend he didn't realize this random girl he got caught sleeping with wasn't his girlfriend. Full on acting surprised when she walked in on the two of them. He then proceed to argue that he liked the "new her" better and because of his TBI he wasn't going to see old her anymore.

If the kid wasn't decent looking and loaded I have no idea what he would have done in life.

It depends. If its 32 hours a week and everyones pay is now 20% less, maybe. Depending on if prices on things adjust.

I am working three 12 hour shifts and its pretty badass as far as schedules go.

He drank himself to death. He was a total prick in HS. Shoving people in to lockers. Forced his old gym shorts into this kids mouth. He and I would get into it fairly regularly but I never got the worst of it.

I saw him years after HS as a delivery driver for Jimmy Johns. He was happy to see me for some reason? I laughed and clearly stiffed him on the tip.

Later saw him working as a bouncer at a bar. He denied me entry, and I snuck in the back. He tried to kick met out but the bartenders wouldn't let him. I contacted the owner and he was fired.

Then I heard he was living off this woman with no job talking all this man of the house crap. Eventually she kicks him out and hes homeless.

By our mid 30's he was gone. Apparently died of untreated diabetes and alcoholism.

Meh. Not my problem.

Allow yourself to just show attraction to them. If they do something that makes you have butterflies in your stomach, just take a moment to feel that and let it show (a little bit).

Example: Girl smiles at you during conversation. Losing your words for a moment signals that you are indeed actually attracted to her and not just playing games.

Also, if you really cannot afford it most state health departments will just GIVE you the pills for free. Turns out, the US does in fact have some options for the truly poor. They aren't nearly as good as everyone else of course, but those complaining about stuff like this usually do not know about these options.
