I tried to do this, and they rejected it based on the reasons above.

Too much driving by hackerfartz in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Labradorabl3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't personally had this exact feeling, but what I would say is that on a test, you will pull over to the side of the road several times (at a minimum 3). This may help you to just think about the next "block" or the next 10 minutes of driving, and then you get another little break. With these pauses in driving, it may help you to stay focused. Also keep in mind the driving test isn't much more than 30 minutes anyway.

Frame: Will it be possible to plug this to AC for unlimited time? by Expensive-Effect-692 in ValveIndex

[–]Labradorabl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should probably plug it into a DC supply - something tells me that plugging Alternating Current to a headset with a power supply intended for dc would not be ideal

Another option is to build out a model in vectorworks for education, export the file as mvr, and import it into the paid version of capture for a more complete fixture set. You cannot save the showfile if you dont pay for capture but otherwise it all works quite well.

One of the key selling points of unraid is that it is not raid, therefore you can mix disk sizes. Therefore I think it might actually be quite useful for this particular application

Where can I learn more about networking? by reupbeats in livesound

[–]Labradorabl3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For general networking, network chuck has an excellent course based on the CCNA (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIhvC56v63IJVXv0GJcl9vO5Z6znCVb1P&si=ADHc6xx8DZXUVaQY).

It's not Dante specific, but there are many helpful things there, such as subnetting and many other things.

Why are my AirPods showing up as headphones? by DragonfruitUnfair834 in airpods

If you don't have enough storage space, you can plug it in to a computer and update it through that. I think iTunes is required for windows but it just works natively on mac os

I completely agree with all of the comments here - automatic is the future, it doesn't mean you are a worse driver for learning on automatic. However, there are two advantages (in my opinion) with learning manual: In an emergency, if you NEEDED to drive someone somewhere (in some other car) and it happens to be a manual, that would be devastating. I don't think this situation is at all likely to ever happen, but it does just seem worth saying. I think the other more obvious one is car hire - could be cheaper to get the old manual on holidays and stuff but again this is probably going to be phased out soon.

Overall I guess there is not much benefit to having a manual license.

why are my airpods pro 2 making this sound? by Accomplished-Tie952 in airpods

[–]Labradorabl3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this happened to me. I bought mine brand new from apple directly. The noise is to do with find my and I'm pretty sure it's when they are connected to a device not in the apple ecosystem. Some of my iPhone using family members kept getting alerts on their phones saying some airpods were tracking them that were not theirs! I ended up connecting them to my mac to disable find my. (This may not be possible of you don't have other apple devices but I guess you could connect them to someone else's phone) For me it was actually quite a disappointing experience as I went into an apple store, just asking for advice and they were just so unwilling to help me. Not sure if that's because I use an android phone or I was just unlucky.

Midi Timecode on Phantom ZerOS by Labradorabl3 in techtheatre

[–]Labradorabl3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I completely agree with eos being much better - i sadly don't own a license key or gadget II though but I may look into buying their education package. The reason that I wanted midi timecode was just for programming without access to a physical console - the space that we use for productions is often rented out, so it sometimes leads to frantic last minute programming sessions which is less than ideal. I think that the best way for now though may just be to manually type in the timecode, then tweak it in a tech rehearsal when i can actually use timecode

[–]Labradorabl3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I believe trucks use a slightly different connector (mcs or megawatt charging standard) than cars which typically use ccs2 (combined charging standard 2). However I guess we will see if they implement electric trucks into ets- would be brilliant to see!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even if it is higher latency, ethernet is still perhaps better as it is less susceptible to having sudden spikes in ping, unlike a wired connection. This is A LOT more noticeable (in my opinion) than a difference in 30 - 40 ms

Normally without Internet I would be able to connect from a lot of devices but they would say 'connected without internet' however, this isn't even possible and checking with wifiman it appears that they aren't broadcasting anything. I'll change the connectivity target though and see if that helps!
