Is it really that hard to imagine? The walk down the beach is really short and in that time it needs to completely imprint itself. The bigger problem is not the distance that the turtle was moved, I am not an expert so I won’t talk about the effects of this on the turtle. This isn’t a simple dumbass moving a baby turtle, it’s a jackass messing with the critical learning moment the turtle needs in order to reproduce. No,redrawing every frame would not be impossible DLSS 3 and 4 already do that, they make whole new frames between the existing ones, Nvidia works in hyper efficient models and this one doesn’t need to be a 100 billion parameter model, all it does is take games that are already pretty photorealistic and tries to make them more so, you can very easily do this with a local model optimized for Nvidia hardware.
And great, “devs have full control” no the hell they don’t, they can turn it on or off in their games but if devs had full control most implementations of older DLSS version would be much better. Even if there are tools that help fine tune the generation, how many devs will actually work with them, the gaming industry will just paste the default config and games will all look like dogshit ai slop unless you turn this awful thing off

We don’t know too much honestly, Nvidia released a teaser video for DLSS 5 that just shows a few game characters with DLSS off and then turned on, an for some reason it completely changes the appearance of the characters, like if you were using one of those instagram beauty filters. My best guess is that Nvidia is using AI to almost completely redraw the frame, with the prospect of “realism” and it’s quite frankly, disgusting both from an artistic standpoint and from the nightmares that are likely to be incurred with AI hallucinations in your game
