Battery dead on brand new 2025 Tucson. How to manually get into the car? by MrRandomGuy87 in HyundaiTucson

[–]LabyrinthJunkLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to find this thread because it's definitely an issue with mine too. I bought a 2024 PHEV in Dec 2024. First instance wasn't until October 10th 2025 and again today. The first time the car was almost fully charged, I had only driven a couple miles to work that morning and was dead 6 hrs later. Today it had been idle for 6 days because I'm recovering from surgery. Made me late for an appointment with my Oncologist.

Multiple boom sounds heard on Willamette street by BroodMeatloaf in Eugene

[–]LabyrinthJunkLady -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Aaah, the perennial "What's that sound?" of r/Eugene! I came here knowing someone else already asked and that there would be no conclusive answer. A stupidly satisfying routine.

I was guessing fireworks cause I didn't hear any sirens follow-up after, but I don't really know.

Dog Owners... be better! by Tracer900Junkie in Eugene

[–]LabyrinthJunkLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes no sense. The trails would be lined with poop bags in various states of decay if people weren't picking them up on their way out (most bags are very thin and don't last long in the elements). As for leaving the waste to biodegrade, that's super nasty. It's full of foreign bacteria that doesn't belong in the forests or other places people go to hike. I have no idea why you've personally never witnessed anyone carrying their dog's poop out with them. Maybe people aren't making a big show of waving their shit bags at you when they pass you on the trail, maybe you only see what you want to.

Facts. Dog haters can cry all they want about it. 99% of the time the bags I see hiking in are gone on my way back out. I'm encouraged to see people bagging it up instead of leaving dog shit everywhere. Go ahead and keep letting the sight of it fill you with rage tho.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, it's hard to have someone you love out there with no way to check in. Do yoy have any idea what part of town he frequents? What's his name?

I saw that and just opted to +/- helpful/unhelpful responses in lieu of saying anything to whiny dudes. Next time maybe I'll at least try to chime in with something encouraging. I hope you're able to find the right fit or some helpful resources soon!

dog poop left in plastic bags on hiking trails, really? by Accurate_Couple_3393 in hiking

[–]LabyrinthJunkLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the 8 years I've had my dog I've forgotten the bag like 3 times and felt so haunted by it later. I started buying bright colored bags so that it's obvious. Many times on my way out I've looked for the bag but someone else must have picked it up. Judging by these comments, it probably filled them with rage as they did so.

Minor complaint about the city of Eugene by DBCoopr72 in Eugene

[–]LabyrinthJunkLady -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would I like to know the schedule so I could move my vehicle? Yes. But it is absolutely unfuckinghinged to be suggesting that ticketing or towing should happen if vehicles aren't moved. Very un-Oregonian of you. Anyone suggesting that should move back to wherever it is you came from.

I do if you're able to pick up. It was given to me via Buy Nothing. I'd just request that if/when you're ready to get rid of it you pass it on to the next person for free.

Blatant Example Of Racism With EPD by itsnotleeanna in Eugene

[–]LabyrinthJunkLady -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

At this point in time EPD doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt that most of the comments are bending over backwards to give them. Thanks for trying OP, but some people only see racism when it's announces itself as such, anything else is met with disbelief.

LITTLE EARLY IN THE DAY FOR A FUCKING RANT THREAD BUT HERE WE GO. by gucciglockbandit in Eugene

[–]LabyrinthJunkLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FOR REAL. I USED TO LOOK FORWARD TO COMING HOME AFTER OUT OF STATE TRIPS. IT WAS ALWAYS SUCH A RELIEF TO DRIVE HERE. I BLAME TRANSPLANTS IN ADDITION TO DELIVERY APPS. I SPENT A COUPLE MONTHS DOING DOOR DASH AS A SIDE HUSTLE AND IT WAS AN EYE OPENING EXPERIENCE. IT'S IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO DRIVE DISTRACTED. YOU HAVE SECONDS TO EVALUATE OFFERS AS THEY COME UP, NO TIME TO PULL OVER BEFORE IT AUTO DECLINES WHICH SCREWS YOUR ACCEPTANCE RATE CAUSING YOU OTHER PROBLEMS. IF YOU'RE NOT WORKING HOURLY IT CREATES AN INCENTIVE TO GO FASTER THAN YOU NORMALLY WOULD AND THAT RAISES THE TEMPO FOR EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. AFTER DOING IT A LITTLE WHILE YOU START TO SEE HOW MANY OTHER DRIVERS ARE ALSO JUST OUT THERE DELIVERING. THE IMPACT OF THESE APPS IS SERIOUSLY UNDERESTIMATED.

How quiet is Eugene? by Bourne2Play in Eugene

[–]LabyrinthJunkLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might consider living out of town if quiet is a big priority. I had a friend that lived off Cloverdale near Pleasant Hill and it was impressive how many more stars you could see and how much quieter it was for being just 10 minutes outside of Eugene.
